Pours a beautiful cola black, with a creaaamy latte coloured head that lingers and lingers. Surprisingly minimal lacing, however.
The smell is primarily dark roasted/burnt espresso grains. Delicious.
The taste follows the nose to an extent. I feel like I'm almost drinking an iced espresso. Bitter coffee, some chocolate underneath, and a bitter espresso roast finish.
This is a smoothe beer, but disappointingly thin and one dimensional. There are some very appealing tastes here, but overall it falls somewhat short. Check it out if you love coffee/espresso, but I don't think it's as good as it is made out to be.

1 PT. 6 FL. OZ. bottle
Served in a snifter
A - This beer is very dark. When held to the light only a faint ruby glow is perceptible. It is topped with a couple inches of tan head. There is a little lacing.
S - I smell some coffee, but it is not strong at all. There really isn't much else.
T - I get a some coffee and roasted malt. There is a mildly bitter finish.
M - Medium with low carbonation.
O - Full disclosure: this beer has two things working against it. This is my second beer of the evening. The first was a Peruvian Morning with huge coffee smell and taste. This beer lacks compared but still has its own merits. Second, this bottle was purchased in Massachusetts about ten months ago. I may have held on to it for too long. It is decent but not as good as the score indicates. i will revisit given the opportunity for a fresher bottle and a cleaner palate.

I really like this beer. Very dark and robust, with a creamy coffee like flavor (as though I had added cream to my coffee). Flavors are really well balanced. Very nice mouthfeel. Great aromas. And I found that it is very reasonably priced.
Had it for the first time on tap at the Grill Next Door (Haverhill MA), and have since had it in bottles several times. Both quite good.
