22oz into pint glass just below room temperature.

Very dark brown with voluminous creamy tan head that, poured vigorously, wells up and threatens to escape the glass. Head actually reminds me of a draught guinness the way it roils up. Generous lacing decorates the glass all the way to 1/4" beneath the rim.

Aroma is cold hazelnut coffee. My mouth is watering.

Taste is sweet mocha iced coffee with hints of chocolate, caramel and vanila. Chocolate in the brief finish; little aftertaste. The sweetness is neither excessive nor cloying and the coffee flavor, though prominent, does not strike me as overstated.

Mouthfeel is very smooth, rich and creamy with little carbonation. There's an intriguing ice cream or milkshake-like sensation.

Drinkability is astonishingly high. I could have several of these. In fact I'm already looking at my half empty glass with concern, since I only have one bomber of this.

I'm really starting to love this brewery.

Love this beer. I felt like changing it up from my usual run since it is so damn cold outside. And for $3.99, what a steal.

A: Black. Very, very dark. Looks like, well, coffee. Licorice comes to mind. So does a black hole. Lacing left at the top reminds me of the lacing at the top of a root beer float left from the ice cream.

S: Coffee. Straight in your face coffee. There is no going around it. As the beer warms, hints of chocolate, fig and vanilla appear.

T: This baby tastes like the finest coffee money can buy. Jamaican, peruvian? Wish I knew what types of beans were used for the "coffee extract" made for BBC. Slight chocolate and vanilla as the beer warms.

M: Heavy. Lingers around the edges of your mouth as it drips down. Amazing. Good bitterness too.

O: You wanted a coffee porter? You got a coffee porter. I plan on bringing a few of these bad boys back with me to NY and then to NC to enjoy with a few of my friends.

A = The darkest, most beautiful black coffee you can imagine, with a luscious creamy head and ample lacing on the glass.

S = Coffee upfront and the malty porter second. Exquisite.

T = Wow!! For a coffee and porter lover like me, this is heavenly. Coffee, light vanilla, and then smooth maltiness on the palate.

M = True to the Porter style, with just a bit of extra-creaminess.

O = This is a favorite that I hope to revisit over and over again. Would it be wrong to pour this in a coffee cup in the morning and enjoy it at 7 a.m.?!? As far as food pairings, I'm not quite sure what would stand up to its richness, but maybe a slice of pecan pie or a sweet/spicy barbeque sauce on top of baby back ribs?

22 oz bomber.

A - dark as night. Small cream colored head. Second pour a two finger fluffy head.

S - coffee, smoke, vanilla.

T - tastes as it smells. Heavy in the coffee.

M - near perfect. Solid, but not overly thick or syrupy.

O - good stuff. Recommended for porter heads.
