Growler into pint glass at roughly 50 degrees.
A pour down the middle yields nearly three fingers of dramatic rocky tan head over a very dark nearly black body with reddish brown highlights. Slight lace patterns as the head falls.
Scent is an unobtrusive chocolate, roasted malt, and coffee.
Taste is a delicious creamy coffee and chocolate caramel with a mild citrus hop note to follow but little to no bitterness. There's a hint of oatmeal here and I find the creamy chocolate lingers a bit.
Soft, creamy medium mouthfeel with very low carbonation. Although creamy this strikes me as a little thin. Berkshire's Coffeehouse Porter tends to seem thicker and weightier to me. The thinness here may be related to the fact that I'm reviewing this from a growler whereas I reviewed the coffeehouse from a bomber.
Frighteningly drinkable - my first pint disappeared rapidly and I'm ready for another.
I don't love this as much as I do the Coffeehouse Porter but it is a very good porter nonetheless. Excuse me while I pour another!

A: Dark brown to amber in color with a big, fluffy, light brown head. Good lacing and retention.
S: Huge aromas of chocolate, some coffee, and roasted malt. The dark chocolate really stands out. Fantastic for a Porter. Maybe some spices in there, too. A lot of good stuff going on.
T: Similar to the nose...full of chocolate and roasted malt. Some charred and earthy qualities. A very tasty beer that I would drink anytime.
M: The body is spot-on for the style, if not better than usual and closer to a stout. Not watery like some. Carbonation is there. The flavor never fades and provides a great finish.
O: Superb stuff here. Very easy-drinking. Well done, Berkshire!

Growler to pint.
A- A nice darkness to this porter. Sadly no head like I read in other reviews. I think that might be due to the growler.
S- Dark bitter Chocolate with hints of roasted malts.
T- Dark Chocolate, roasted malts, tiny bit of coffee. Front of the tongue brings the malts and the more I drink the more the chocolate taste sits on the back of my tongue.
M- Slightly carbonated but dark, creamy and delicious.
O- Overall a good porter. I love the creamy chocolatey finish.
