A special thanks to my apartment-mate Bertrand Morin for bringing this to us in a growler straight from the brewery!!!
A - Cloudy, unfiltered dark amber color (almost like thick honey or agave nectar) with a small one-finger white head that reduces to a nice residual layer. Carbonation bubbles are continually moving through the cloudiness. 'Tis a gorgeous beer! 4.5
S - Floral, hoppy smell. I couldn't tell you exactly what this smells like...but what I can tell you is that it smells good. Really good. Like hop-angels singing in your nostrils. (ok that sounded weird) 4.5
T - Slightly sweet citrusy lemon flavor at the beginning, immediately counterbalanced by bitter hopnotes at the back of the tongue. Nice crisp finish with a hint of apple, bergamot and more citrus. 4.0
M - Smooth and carbonated just slightly. I think this would have more carbonation and a better body if we had had it in Massachusetts and it didn't have to travel back down here to Richmond, VA. 3.5
O - I think this is a fantastic beer. It's been in the growler, transported by car, all the way down from Massachusetts to Richmond, VA and I think that has definitely had an impact on the quality. That being said, I think this beer is great even despite these detractions. If you can get your mitts on this beer, do it!!! 4.5

Reviewing live so this will be short. No big citrus or floral hop nose on this. There are hops but this has a superb malt bill. This is among the maltreat IPAs I've had and I'm loving it. No extreme bitterness, just smooth caramel malt with enough hops to balance it. An old fashioned IPA. Wife has a Stone IPA and unlike this better.

12. oz. can poured into a tulip.
Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy light orange. Kind of a marmalade color. Nice one-and-a-half-inch white head. Lacing minimal.
Aroma: Smells of pine, hops, malt, grapefruit, and lemon.
Taste: The taste follows the nose, and it's pretty good. It's just over the APA/IPA line, with moderate alcohol and high-but-not-super-high bitterness. Nice malty backbone.
Mouthfeel: The beer has an appealing sessionable quality - not an intimidating beer, but a complex and quaffable one.
Overall: Fun sessiony IPA from this western Mass. brewer. The term "session IPA" makes a lot of folks groan, but this is a very well executed one. A good everyday beer and a good companion for any meal.
