Bottle shared by dreadnaught33. Thanks Yanik!

Hazy copper brown body with a small off-white collar. Aromas of strawberries and lacto. Super sour strawberry pour. See what I did there? I'm a poet and I didn't even realize it. Anyhow, this is tasty.

Strawberry beers always send up a red flag to me. Too many bad experiences with plastic-tasting beers. Fortunately, this one was not off at all. Light golden brown pour, cloudy, with a small white head. Crisp grainy aroma, light caramel, essence of strawberry. I think more sweet than sour in the taste, balance with a good amount of funk, ripe strawberry, but not overdone, light malts, grain husks. Light-medium body, and a good drinker, probably one of the better strawberry beers I've had, and the best RB beer I've had so far.

Appearance: Pours a hazy peach/orange; modest head and some spots of lace hang around

Smell: Somewhat dry and funky with strawberries, of course

Taste: Packed with strawberry flavor, slightly jammy, somewhat tart and a bit of funk; the sweeter flavors lead off and the tart sour ones bring up the rear

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: My first Rare Barrel beer; wish they kept longer hours as whenever I visit SFO on business during the week they are closed

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Hazy body. Small white head and a medium collar.

Smell - Strawberry. Lightly grainy. A little acidic.

Taste - More sour than the nose implied. Strawberry. Amplifies the sourness. A little grainy.

Mouthfeel - Medium light body. Well carbonated.

Overall - Strawberry is strong, but that's about all it is.

Split with rudzud.

very little head, murky hazy peachish orange red color, little white strawberry seed like things floating.

NOse brings mild funk, a little earthy Brett like funk, with plenty of strawberry, aged soft strawberry, a little strawberry jam and acidic tartness.

Taste brings tons of strawberry, like loads of fresh strawberry and tart fleshy sour strawberry, little funky, with mild earthy funk, and flemmy sourness. little acidic, with a sour acidic strawberry bite, and some strawberry like juice. FInish is a little sticky and flemmy, little acidic, little syrupy like, tart lingering.

Mouth is med bod, lighter carb again.

Overall quite nice, one of the better ones from them despite the age on it.

Split with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice dirty red hazy hue with a thin wispy head that fades to leave light wisps.

S - Aromas of faint strawberries, light gentle wisps of a strawberry patch. It gets stronger as it warms but it is still subtle. Fresh and gummy strawberry.

T - Taste is similar to the nose, strawberry is much more muted but delicious. Almost like a dirty patch, nice funk, light tartness. Green kind of seedy. Faint vinegar but the strawberry is tasty.

M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, good body, pleasant.

O - Overall this beer was delicious, good strawberry patch notes though faint due to age.

Crisp, balanced. Tart but not overly so. Great strawberry in the nose and comes through in a subtle way in the beer that is prominent yet not overbearing. Excellent.

On tap for The Bruery Sucreversary held at The Phoenix Club in Anaheim, CA.

Pours a murky honey orange with a foamy khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is sour with malt, grain, strawberry, and acidic aromas. Taste is much the same with sour malt, acidic, and slight strawberry flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty but has a slightly better strawberry presence in the aroma in my opinion.

On-tap at the brewery. Batch 2. 10oz tulip.

A: Served a murky, dirty, iced-tea color with a thin off-white head that faded into a bubbly, fairly long-lasting collar.
S: Fruity notes of strawberry ice-cream, a touch of rhubarb, and earthy oak come through. The strawberry is amazing fresh smelling, and is not really sweet and definitely not synthetic or syrupy like some other strawberry beers.
T: Again, fresh fruity strawberry that tastes like the real earthy semi-sweet berries. The tartness is bright and slightly acid and lemony, and the finish is full of earthy and musty oak, slight rhubarb and slight plum. The aftertaste is fruity, musty and a bit buttery.
M: Tingly, fluffy carbonation; medium, drying, gritty and tart mouthfeel. Acidity is low, and the oak adds some nice gritty clinging tannins. Drinks clean and easy.
O: One of TRB's better sours and one of the best examples of strawberry in a beer I've had. Fruit was subtle but has a really fresh and earthy quality. The low sweetness in a strawberry beer was definitely welcomed.
