Forces Unseen is a blend of various golden sour beers aged in oak barrels. Each batch of Forces Unseen highlights a unique mix of yeast and bacteria, which is often different from the last batch. This blend of Forces Unseen is a blend of 5 golden sours aged in oak barrels. This is the second bottling of Forces Unseen and the third blend created. These blends truly showcase what sour beer is all about. With no added fruits or spices, the forces unseen deserve all the credit for the flavors derived in the 2nd bottled batch of this golden sour beer.

Golden in color. Somewhat hazy in appearance. Lemon, stone fruit, oak and lacto. Maybe a hint of earthy and funky brett. Sour upfront mellows out mid-palate into a dry short finish. Phenomenal.

Bottle: Poured a clear golden color ale with a medium white foamy head. Aroma of tart and sour notes with some acidic notes is nice. Taste is mostly dominated by tart and sour notes with a significant level of acidity. Body is about average with good carbonation. Nice level of complexity for a sour but acidity level is little bit higher then I was expecting.

i'm not much into the sour scene so this is hard for me, but MY opinion of this is it is INCREDIBLE.... so easy to drink, not overly tart and very smooth. such an easy brew to drink and it looks beautiful being a super clear golden yellow. some sediment on the bottom apparently didn't make it into the glass... but dang it's expensive!!!!

Blend 3. 750ml bottle, served in a stemless wine glass.
Pours a lighter, bright yellow body, two finger white head which dies down quickly, overall with a good retention time, medium collar and thin film. Smells of lemon peel, a bit of grapefruit, oak, mild funk, lactic acid, grainy sweetness. Flavour is on the sweeter side just like a lot of the other Rare Barrel beer; fair bit of lemon, mild funky cheese, fair bit of lactic acid that is clean and dries out the palate. It's not superbly complex and is on the sweeter side, makes for a pleasant drinking experience. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, a bit of cheese on the finish, appropriately carbonated with a nice drying feel to it. Overall, another very similar Rare Barrel beer that doesn't re-invent the wheel, not at all.

Shared with brentlepping. Bottle to tulip.
A. Light straw color with a coarse egg shell head that fades to a fine rim. Nothing too fancy.
S. Moderate tart fragrance. The major notes are grains and neutral oak. Grassy, dusty, and very lemony.
T. The taste begins with a moderate tartness. Moderate oak presence. Notes of sour green apples, grapes, peaches and more lemon.
M. Clean, light body, moderate carbonation.
O. This is a dang fine sour. My first RB beer and I'm jumping at the chance to try more. A nice oak presence in the nose and palette and light fruity notes. This serves as an excellent base for fruited versions. Well crafted.
