Pours opaque black. The 1/4 inch tan head quickly disappears completely and leaves no lace.

The smell is of spent coffee grounds, faint vanilla and dark chocolate.

The taste is of bitter black coffee, dark chocolate, black cherry and plum.

The texture is full bodied with medium carbonation.

A fairly standard coffee stout. Strong bitter coffee up front with dark fruit sweetness on the finish.

There was something about the smell that reminded me of Serrano chilies. Body was on the think side but in some ways I think this made it even easier to go down. Barely any bitterness. Intriguing beer that makes me wonder if this is really what they were going for or if this is just what they ended up creating.

Really smooth, coffee notes don't add any bitterness. Sessionable with a light soda-like carbonation. Don't even notice the 10.7%.

Appearance: Black with a short tan head.

Smell: Some coffee and roast malts.

Taste: Strong roast malts, moderate bitterness, some coffee, slightly sour towards the end. Surprisingly the alcohol is not noticable. There was a lingering metallic taste - not much, but there.

Mouthfeel: Moderately thick with low carbonation.

Overall: Okay heavy stout. Did not seem that big, despite over 10% ABV. The metallic tinge was a bit off-putting, but not enough to ruin it.
