I bought a bomber of Canopus IPA in a bottle shop. Poured in to a snifter.

Pours a rich gold color, chill haze, with a creamy white head.

Smell is a sweet tropical and citrus aroma. Oranges and lemon blossom.

Taste is also quite good, a sweet bread flavor up front, with some caramel notes and citrus finish.

Mouthfeel is smooth, slightly cloying, with a dry bitter after taste.

Overall a very tasty and drinkable IPA.

Amber brew with plenty of foam in the big Kasteel chalice. Pleasant aroma of grapefruit and flowers. Tangy and more than a little sharp. Not overly bitter, though. Some tasty light malt. Very spritzy, which seems to accentuate the hot herbal and citrus peel flavors.

A little woody with a citrus zing. Label says this is brewed with Sterling hops and dry hopped with Simcoe and Centennial. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Haggens Market in Burlington where they had a display of several Ecliptic brews. Not my pick of the litter, but it's one of my favorite Portland breweries.

L: Pours gold wityh a slight chill haze under a persistent 3” off-white foam cap that takes 4 minutes to reduce to ΒΌ its original size. S: Grassy with a hint of mint, spice, and citrus. Faint malt. Hop aromas are medium, malt aromas are low. T: Light malt, some citrus, light sweetness, a hint of ginger, spice. Hop forward with medium levels of bitterness, medium low malt character, medium hop flavor, clean fermentation character. Finishes with a lingering bitter fruit and spice. F: Medium high soft and creamy carbonation, medium low body. O: A fairly light beer for the amount of flavor. Refreshing and easy to drink.

My first try of this Portland based brewery.Pours into an impy pint glass a slight dull hazed brass color with a half finger sticky white head atop.Aromas are on the lighter side with some earthy and floral hops sticking out a little.Piney notes on the palate with some earth and wood, not a big in your face hop profile, dryer malt base in the back end.Not bad but it lacks some hop complexity in my mind.

22 oz bottle. Pours clear copper gold with a huge bubbly white head that retains well and leaves some lacing.

The aroma is bready wheat malts and fruity floral hops.

The flavor is sweet sugary fruity malts with some grassy floral bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is a bit thin and watery.

Overall, a decent IPA.

22 oz bottle from Trader Joe in Salem OR $4.79 THis no longer says India Style Wheat Ale..just IPA now. Deep amber coloured body with a large thick, creamy frothy creme coloured head. Nice citrus and floral hop aromas..substantial caramel malts. Very nice taste..quite balanced with creamy caramel malts an citrus hoppiness wins in the end. Nice mouth feel smooth , medium body and medium low carbonation. A very tasty IPA and about right for September! ’

Served from a bomber on a trip to Portland, OR. Bright and citrusy. A tad more malt backbone might be a good thing, but it also could overpower these citrusy hops.

Bottled 26 Aug 2015, consumed 27 Sept 2015. Bomber from Freddie's.

A faintly hazy light copper with a dense, off-white head with excellent retention and lacing, this looks great. The nose is solid. Fresh, fragrant, fruity hops, mostly bright with little bits of dough, chalk and green hops. The palate opens with a moderate hop character, creamy, mildly bitter, moderately fruity and quite delicious. Plenty of fruit with melon, citrus, a little pineapple juice, along with some malt - an oat-like smoothness/fullness, a little honey. Soft, doughy mid-palate, this beer finishes with mild bitterness, a little green with hop particulate-like grittiness and some fruit. Creamy, medium-light in body, this beer is pleasantly carbonated. Solid.

22oz bomber $5.49. Canopus has a hazy orange color and the head was massive, lots of lacing. Aroma is citrus zest. Flavor is more citrus hops, decent bitterness on the end. Decent northwest IPA but probably not something I will reach for again.
