Pours a deep tawny brown with a creamy light tan colored one finger head atop.Vanilla stands out most in the nose with some caramel as well, not much roast and or drying notes.Sweet but not quite cloying on the palate with a somewhat slick feel. Not bad, more of a dessert kinda beer. (281 characters)

Holy vanilla Batman! Strong vanilla smell, strong vanilla flavor and strong vanilla aftertaste. But worth a try. Just be prepared for sweet vanilla and malts. I liked it but recommend it for after dinner not before. Will look into this brewery a little more. (259 characters)

Poured into a Double Barley soda-can shaped glass. No freshness date. Thank you Cheryl!

A- Pours a dark brown color with a 1/2 inch tan head that settles to a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a mostly full sheet of surface foam. Non-resilient lacing.

S- Rich vanilla aroma with tones of chocolate and butterscotch.

T- Dark roasted malt dominates with notes of cocoa, toffee and of course vanilla. Alcohol is very well-concealed and it's not as sweet as I was expecting with the vanilla complementing the rest of the flavor profile rather than being in the forefront. Mild bitterness. Tootsie roll aftertaste.

M- Slightly creamy with medium carbonation and a full body.

O- Was very happy to receive a complimentary bottle from DB after having bought an overcarbonated bottle. A very solid vanilla porter that is subtle in its flavors while still having a relatively high ABV. Dangerous stuff where I can understand why they chose the 22 oz bottle format. (977 characters)

This is a darkly coloured Vanilla porter. Had it on tap at the Carolina Ale House in Jacksonville, NC. It poured delightfully, sitting in the glass with a creamy, almost mahogany head. Silky body without being too heavy or feeling like high-end cough syrup.

The taste was vanilla and spice, with hints of bitter cocoa on the back end. Unlike many of this type, it didn't have an unpleasantly lingering aftertaste. It is somewhat heavy, so I'm not sure more than one per evening would be called for. (504 characters)
