I tried this new offering from a Mississippi brewer on 11/5/13. On tap served in a pint glass.
This beer was a surprisingly light straw yellow color. Not typical for a pale ale, actually looked like a blonde. It was pleasantly cloudy though with a nice head and left a little lacing. Smell was nothing spectacular, mostly mild hop aromas and a slight breadiness. The taste was a little above average. The hop presence was there without the bitterness, as expected for the style. The taste was mild and easily enjoyable. Mouthfeel was thicker than expected given the color and the low abv, and the carbonation was great with the right amount and the right feel to it. I would drink again. One should expect almost a light version of an APA, and it will not disappoint. This might be just what we need here in this climate for a thirst quenching, flavorful, and light bodied ale. Good job Yalobusha.

Half of a finger head
Medium body, with a low alcohol content for a pale ale
Taste is mellow, citrusy at first, and then there is a small bite from the hops
Overall good, and improving

Poured into a snifter. Bottles just released into central MS the day before.

A: lemon yellow, opaque, with a white half- finger head dissipates to big bubbles. Frothy lacing.

S: citrus featuring lemons with some grainy hops in the background.

T: follows nose with a semi-sweetness and dry finish.

M: light to medium with frothy carbonation.

O: looks and drinks like a blonde with lemony tartness and a hop kick. Sessionable. Would love to try on draft. Glad to finally get some way south of Water Valley, MS. Cheers, Andy!

Poured into a Chimay Chalice from 12 oz. bottle.

A: Opaque dark rotting lemon color. Great finger and a half white head with large bubbles that dissipate into a frothy head. Lacing is unbelievably large.

S: Grainy. Malty. Light fruits. Citrus. Hops nonexistent. Very interesting for an IPA.

T: Grainy. Lemon citrus. Finishes with a double ka-pow of hops. I think these are mostly bittering hops used early in boil. Delicious. Surprisingly good. Sweet at times with a bitter finish.

M: I don't want to say light... or medium really either. It is a good in between. Entirely sessionable.

O: This might not win an award as an IPA but is absolutely delicious. I would try again for sure.
