Beautiful colored amber ale - the hop character is there, 65 IBU, but not as pronounced as you'd think it would be. Fades away brilliantly. Quite a creamy, balanced amber.

Great amber. Even better as a barrel aged.

Poured into a snifter.

A: a beautiful clear copper with an off-white 1 finger head that dissipates quickly. Light lacing.

S: grapefruit-y hops, earthy.

T: bitter hops slide in with a sweet, dry finish. Nutty, malty in the middle. As the bottle says, "a subtle sweetness."

M: medium with low carbonation.

O: a nice offering from Mississippi's newest brewer. Better as it warms; the nuts come out. Ready to try their other offerings.

EDIT : I had this in a growler and thought much better of it. My have just been a funky bottle. No change to my review yet... but much tastier from draft.

Poured into Chimay Chalice from 12 oz. bottle.

A: not entirely clear but copper as expected. Amber in light. Head is a finger with a sticky small bubble foam left in its wake. Lacing throughout.

S: Grainy. Malt. Citrus. Yeasty.

T: Grainy. Hops hit midway and are seen throughout finish. Light citrus. Grapefruit. Sweetness is not as subtle as advertised. Malt. Almonds.

M: smooth. Carbonation isn't noticed until the very last. Very low carbonation really. Medium bodied.

O: Previous reviewer advised to drink a tad warmer... I couldn't agree more. This beer really shines at a temperature above 55 degrees. The overall is bumped .25 because of this immense change. It really is noticeable. I'd like to see more flavoring hops... but this is just me being picky.
