A: Hazy dark pumpkin color. Good thick head.
S: Belgian mustiness, pineapple, banana, clove.
T: Lots of nutty and vegetable notes. The alcohol really comes through a lot here though. Hits with that clove but the belgian must doesn't overpower the beer.
M: A odd one, the beer has a fuller body but a lighter watery finish.
Overall a pretty solid beer. I didn't get as much fruit as I was hoping for but I think this made good use of the horsey, musty belgian notes as they complimented the beer more than dominated it. It seemed like as the beer warmed the alcohol was better masked by the other flavors that began to emerge.

On tap at Lucky Baldwins in Pasadena, CA.
Pours a hazy reddish-orange with a foamy bone head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, honey, fruit, and spices. Taste is much the same with fruity and spice flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer but I think the smell on this one is slightly better than the taste.
