Bink ... doesn't scream excellent Belgian ale, but hey, i'll give it a go ... poured a relatively dark amber brown with a little bit of a ruby glow. Poured carefully, leaving a pretty clean, clear appearance though there was considerable sediment in the bottom of the bottle. Fairly thick, slightly off-white head with some staying power. Nose is fruity and sweet. You can really discern a candy sugar here. Yeasty and floral as well. Quite pleasant. Palate is yeasty and fruity, of course, but what makes this one unique is the hop presence. The hops are assertive, but almost leave the effect of a bitterness like an under-ripe fruit. Bordering on pleasant and unpleasant. There is some pear-like flavors here. Mouthfeel is rather thin, though there is a good alcohol "burn" if left lingering a while in the mouth. Finish is a bit bitter, but otherwise enjoyable. This is certianly an intruiging Belgian "fruit" beer. Good flavors mixed with an almost medicinal bitterness that's hard to overcome or overlook. I like it and would be willing to try it again. Not high enough abv to cellar effectively, but maybe a little time would mellow the bitter flavor a bit. Give it a try if you can find it.

L- When I bought this online in a Bink variety pack I wasn't expecting a beer quite as... erm... limp-wristed as this to arrive. But, live in hope, you never know...
The first surprise if the beer isn't bright pink (like a couple of Belgian cheerry krieks I had last week). It is one of the more vivid orange beers I've ever seen. The head is huuuge and veryquick to form, a 6Cm pillowy undulating pale orange-tan, with one 'ridge' shaped section of foam standing 2cm aboce the rum of the glass.
S- I get honey notes.
T- Well I never! I was fully prepared to loath this beer: But no! I do not taste the additional honey and 'pear syrup' (what's that?!) incorporporated in this beer. What I do get is a big tasting punchy beer with quite prominent dry hopping and for 7.1% an unexpected and frankly pretty astonishing sense of 'ABV% zing' on the palate.
F- Punchy, has a solid medium-rich feel with notable hopping to balance. Feels more like about 9%+ to me than 7.1%
O- Well seems I was prudent (this time) not to pre-judge this one, as it's damned better than I anticipated. Quite why the brewery choose to bottle it in such an effeminate palate is a mystery.
330ml bottle. BB: 19/03/2023. Bought online from BelgiumInABox in Antwerp/BE for home delivery to me in London/UK.

I want to like this beer, I really do. It's a dark saison, very dry, and somewhat spicy. The taste is pears, dark fruit, and something I can't put my finger on. I'm fine with the lack of sweetness, that's a feature not a bug. But there's something lacking in the makeup of this beer, and it winds up seeming unbalanced and a bit harsh. I quit my glass halfway through.

Amber color with beige head. Aroma has toasted malt, burnt sugar, brandy, raisins and some other dried fruits. Taste starts with burnt sugar, toasted malt, yeast notes, some ethanol, generic fermented fruit notes and a light earthy bitterness on the finish. Medium body and carbonation. The aroma is quite interesting but the taste has a lot of competing flavors which don't combine well.

Very murky brown color that shows hints of red when held up to the light. Doesn't look appealing; fortunately the taste is better. There is a very sharp dryness along with honey and candi sugar. Has almost a molasses type texture to it.

This beer is much better than its average ratings and, I'm speculating, this is because raters see "honey and pear syrup" and might be patterned to think "too sweet."
If so, they are mistaken. This could be described as dry.
But, don't listen to me.
Take it from someone who knew so ever much more and always will. MJ's "Great Beers of Belgium" said Bloesum was "delicate, dryish and spritzy."

330 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy dark reddish brown color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of plum, cherry, pear, apple, caramel, honey, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, peppercorn, light chocolate, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aroma with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, pear/honey, and dark/bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of plum, cherry, pear, apple, caramel, honey, toasted biscuit, nuttiness, peppercorn, light chocolate, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Moderate amount of earthy yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of plum, pear, apple, honey, toasted biscuit, light chocolate/nuttiness, peppercorn, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity and solid robustness of fruity/spicy yeast, pear/honey, and dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, fairly crisp, and slightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Light-moderate dryness after the finish. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this was a nice fruited Belgian dark ale. All around good balance and solid robustness of fruity/spicy yeast, pear/honey, and dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. The aromas were more impressive than the flavors, but this was still a nicely enjoyable offering.
