Brown ales are hard to come by around here. Local, fresh ones harder still. This is really tasty and very balanced. Great caramel notes with a bit more hop character than I would normally prefer - I enjoy a sweeter brown typically, and this finishes pretty dry and clean. It's really good and would purchase again.

Poured into a 12 oz glass a Copper Grouse in Manchester. Dark brown with a finger + worth of foamy head that leaves nice lacing. Slight - every so - sweet malt that's counterbalanced with slight bitterness. Really nicely done and love their take on the style

Canned 12/24/20
This is my first from Burlington Beer Co, and an odd one at that. A brown ale brewed with wild rice, which I'm wondering how much that will really come through behind the darker malts associated with the style. Let's see what this is all about
Pours a cloudy dark brown with 2 fingers of off white head that slowly settles to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
For what's listed as an American brown ale, this leans closer to the English version of the style with its soft sweetness in the nose, and the rice actually comes through nicely. I'm picking up on aromas of dark bread, earthy noble hops, brown rice, doughy malt, and a touch of nutty toffee
The bitterness in taste is more assertive than the aroma, but certainly nothing overpowering. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting semi-sweet chocolate, dark bread, honey, and lightly fruity hops. The swallow brings notes of clean grassy hops, brown rice, caramel malt, and a touch of peppery spice
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a slick yet easy drinking beer. Finishes mostly dry with a balanced sweetness
This was really good, pretty unique for a brown ale with the addition of rice which really smooths things out. I'd get this again

Pours a basic brien with ru y edges and a finger of head. The nose has mild nutty and bready qualities. The fkavor is grainy with modest notes of breadiness. There is a mild residual sweetness on the finish.

Tall can, 1/10/19 stamped on the label.
Pours dark and porter like, slight but, frothy cap and strands of lacing left on the glass.
Bready, peanut butter nutty sniff.
Complex, tasty and worthy brown ale, more dark malts, more nuttiness, more peanut butter notes...glad to see a brown ale in a can for a change...worth a try
