Style | ABV
Irish Red Ale |  5.00% ABV

Availability: Year-round

Notes/Commercial Description:
Rollin Dirty Red Ale, our Irish-style Ale possesses a deep amber color. It displays a forward caramel aroma with hints of chocolate and roasted nuts. English hop varietals lend a floral to herbal bitterness which helps to round the carmel sweetness and lend some crispness to this year round ale.

Appearance; color is a beautiful, clear, ruby.A steady stream of bubbles rise to the surface constantly, beer pours a huge amount of head that settles quite quickly, to leave a ring of lacing that tightly hugs the glass.

Smell; aroma is quite mild, but very pleasant. Herbal notes and hints of malty caramel.

Taste; The flavor is quite mild yet very complex. upfront is english tea, slight fruity flavor follows and carries you right into stout like flavors of coffee, caramel and chocolate. the flow of flavors is absolutely poetic.

Mouthfeel; light body, light carbonation, refreshing but not quite juicy.

overall; This is a very unique beer, in the best way. i've never had a beer that carried obvious, classic malt flavors of caramel and chocolate that was so light and drinkable. Amazing balance. will certainly buy again.

A: The beer is clear brownish red in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high beige head that quickly died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of caramel malts, toasted malts and toffee are present in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste is rather malty and is mostly filled with flavors of caramel malts and toffee. Slight bits of tea are noticeable towards the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer seems to be a lot maltier compared to other beers that I've had in the style.

Acquired from Cuzco so a big “Thank You” goes out to him. Poured from a 12oz can into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a medium brown color, with a short off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains caramelized malts, honey, tea and a touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of caramel, honey and tea. Then a hearty malt character comes in. The hops presence is decent for the style and provides a good balance. There’s a little bit of chocolate in the background. The after-taste is slightly sweet and slightly bready.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, this is a solid beer to pound down for a while if you’re in the mood for the style.

12 oz can poured into a shaker pint.

Red with amber highlights. The short head dissipates quickly. Good clarity.

Caramel, toffee, and a hint of chocolate.

Caramel maltiness with lesser notes of toffee and brown sugar. Slight suggestion of chocolate and herbal tea. Beautifully balanced with no hop presence.

Medium bodied and smooth with light carbonation.

Simple and highly quaffable. Much better than most Irish Reds that I've had.

Poured from a 12 oz. can into a pint glass

Appearance is a beautiful dark ruby color with a finger head.

Aromas of toffee, caramel and sugars.

Taste - a very malty upfront beer. With lots of the aroma flavors coming through. Caramel and toffee.

Poured from a 12 oz. can into a chalice. Canned on 04/09/14.

Appearance is dark red/brown body with a finger's width of tan head; left no lacing in the glass.

Aromas of burnt sugar and bread and some bittersweet chocolate.

Tastes of more of the aromas; burnt caramel followed by chocolate and followed up with a little sweetness.

Mouthfeel has very little amount of carbonation; would enjoy a little bit more to off set the sweetness.

Overall a fairly good beer that seems to be missing something; perhaps the lower abv has something to do with that, not sure. Would think a higher abv would add a little something extra that it is missing.

Received as an extra in a trade and poured into my Duvel tulip.

A - Poured a crystal clear very dark garnet hue with a one finger light tan head that faded quickly to leave a thin thin blanket and creamy halo.

S - Aromas of sweet malts, crackers/bread, faint spices.

T - Taste is more of the nose, caramel malts, cracker/bread, sweetness, faint spice notes, slight metallic taste, older earthy like hops. Lingering cloy sweet finish (though the beer itself is not cloy).

M - Mouthfeel is lightly bodies, medium carbonation. The aftertaste/finish though is just bad.

O- Overall, this just didnt do it for me at all. As average as it may have been, the aftertaste and lingering stickiness just..yeah...drain pour.
