Notes/Commercial Description:
Are Wheat There Yet?, our hoppy Wheat Ale, is medium bodied with a hint of wheat and malt sweetness. Magnum and Galaxy hops contribute a slight bitterness balance of honey and malt sweetness. Late kettle additions of Nelson Sauvin and Kohatu hops add white grape, honeydew melon and passion fruit aromatics to this refreshing American Honey wheat.

Brew Bus Brewing "Are Wheat There Yet?"
12 oz. can

I wasn't impressed with this beer, but neither was I unimpressed. It's a basic American wheat ale that does the job. It's delicately wheaty and lightly honey-ish in the malt with a hop accent that leans citrusy/lemony and subtly piney/minty. There's a decent amount of bitterness to it that keeps it balanced as well. It's looks like you'd expect, and it's easy to drink as you'd expect. Refreshing. If I was headed to the beach I might grab a six-pack of this.

A: The beer is very hazy dark golden yellow in color—too hazy to see if there is any visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high off white head that gradually died down, leaving only a thin collar around the edge of the glass and a few specks of bubbles on the surface.
S: Light aromas of tropical fruits are present in the nose—pineapples seem to stand out in particular.
T: The taste is very similar to the smell, except that the pineapple flavors are a tad stronger and there are also hints of grapes to go along with hints of underlying wheat. No bitterness is noticeable.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is extremely easy to drink and has pleasant aromas and flavors from interesting hop varieties that you would expect from an IPA, but they are obviously subdued given that this is a wheat beer.

When a new CAN shows up in LanCANster, PA and I do not have trade for it or travel to score one for The CANQuest (TM), I CAN hardly believe the luck! Such was the case recently when The Fridge got some of these in stock. CAN you dig it?

From the CAN: "Hop on for the ultimate craft beer experience on the Brew Bus! From brewery tours and tastings to sporting events and bachelor parties, the Brew Bus offers a once in a lifetime experience for everyone. Our tour guides are experienced and knowledgeable, and our staff is friendly and accommodating. Hop on today!!"; "Are Wheat There Yet? is a refreshing Ameri[CAN] Wheat Ale brewed with Galaxy hops from New Zealand to lend citrus & tropical flavors and aromas."

I was refreshed by the Crack! and thus began an inverted Glug. The two fingers of tawny head popped and fizzed themselves right out of existence. Color was a cloudy orangish-yellow (SRM = ~ 5) and I found myself shaking my head in disbelief at the poor showing of the previous beer, which was a hefeweizen. This was more like it, even though it was simply a Wheat beer. Nose was absolutely tropical - mango, papaya, pineapple. Pardon me while I don my grass skirt and coconut shell bra. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium and the taste reminded me of guava juice! Holy tropical, Batman! I have not thought of guava in years, but there was an early health food store in the mall that used to sell it in concentrate. This was really hitting the spot! Are wheat there yet? I do not care to arrive as that would mean that I am finished. Finish was semi-sweet with the tropical flavors making like a roll of Life Savers, but tempered with the wheat. Much better than any Hefeweizen and a real CANdidate for the cooler when hitting the beach, IMHO.

I live in Tampa and love to support local craft brews. I bought "Are Wheat There Yet?" as a single can to try. I poured it into a pub glass. The beer is a cloudy gold color, with a nice white head that leaves a good amount of lacing. The smell is fruity with hints of floral as well. The taste is a refreshing blend of fruit. This is not my favorite beer, but it's a very, very good choice if your looking for a cold American brewed beverage.

Appearance- color is a hazy straw, pours two fingers of frothy, foamy, white head that quickly settles down to about a quarter of the poured amount but the half- finger that remains retains very well.

Smell- the aroma is quite mild, it consists of grapefruit, oranges, lemon, and a hint of wheat.

Taste- taste is bursting with citrus. lots of grapefruit and blood orange, the wheat balances the citrus flavor for an overall mild taste experience.

mouthfeel- slightly creamy, light carbonation, very juicy.

overall- definitely one of the more unique wheat beers i've tried, in a good way.

Poured from 12oz can into a weizen glass.

Appearance: murky yellow-gold hue with almost 3 fingers of frothy white foam atop. Head seems to have pretty good retention and it leaves a bit of chunky lace on the glass. Attractive.

Smell: very tropical hops sit atop a sweet and wheaty base. I'm getting tangerine, mango, grapefruit and a little pine; it's awesome. I love it.

Taste: piney and lemony and grapefruity hops right up front, with a lightly refreshing lemony-wheaty finish. Its one fault is that it is a tad soapy, but otherwise this beer really does the trick for me.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and a pretty good creaminess. It's alright.

Overall: I really enjoy the aroma of this beer, and the flavor ain't half-bad either. It just kind of rubs me the right way.
