22oz brown bomber, sample from the brewery.

Stunning pale amber hue, excellent head retention. Smells of chile peppers, wood, faint agave, and shortbread. Just enough crispness, clean palate throughout. Chile pepper flavor is beyond reproach, just a kiss of heat but the flavor is amazing. Wood and agave flavors help show off the complex character this beer wields. So much going on I barely noticed the 10%+ abv. Such fun, I wouldn't ever get tired of drinking this brew.

Yes, I bought this because it was brewed with scorpions but funny I found it to be a decent beer on its own. The beer has just a tinge of tequila and an obvious earthiness and Serrano pepper. The pepper is for flavor and has just a little heat but it's never overpowering. What I find so endearing is the 10% punch but the excessively smooth drinkability of a lager. The added malts thicken the feel. I'm pretty impressed despite never tasting Scorpion.

22 oz bottle.

Pours a slightly hazy amber gold, thin off-white film for a head retains well.

Smells of agave, oak, spicy hot peppers, and something a bit nutty and salty.

Flavor is of spiced meat, oak, chile peppers, nuts, and a mild dry hop finish. Any agave sweetness is overcome by the spice, although a hint of tequila does shine through in the aftertaste.

Medium to full body with stinging carbonation mixed with the sting of capsaicin throughout, burns going down and in the stomach a bit. There's also a boozy warmth as it goes down. A lot going on here.

Overall, this beer is certainly an experience. I can safely say I've never had anything like it before. The body in particular is very interesting and multifaceted, and I can't deny that I like it a lot. The aroma is also very welcoming. If anything is off about it, it's the flavor, which isn't bad at all, but maybe just a bit TOO weird. The chile peppers, the meaty undertone (which I assume is the scorpions), and the oak and tequila don't all quite mesh together in beer form. At the same time, I'm certainly digging the overall package of this beer. Definitely worth trying for the novelty. As for whether or not this is a repeat beer, the jury is still out for me.

Very good beer. Would be great with Latin/Mexican food. Not too spicy and scorpions don't come through in an odd way

99 scorpions added to the boil? Sure, why not. Had this on draft @ Duckworths on Park Rd, Charlotte North Cackalacky. Pours a nice dark orange color, looks great in the glass. Surprisingly @ 10% it's not insanely boozy, but you can definitely taste the alcohol. The most interesting part is the peppery finish, which apparently resulted from the addition of food grade scorpions. Definitely check this out if you get a chance.

Had on tap. A beer with scorpions, you know I had to try this! It looked good at least... Smell has hot peppers and hot agave to the face, needs balance. This is even more true to the taste, completely overwhelms the palate. If you like those flavors this is for you, but you must love them. Malts, black pepper, and grains are solid though. Feel is hot: spicy and boozy, with no balance in feel either
