From the 12 fl. oz bottle acquired in trade from a non-BA member. Sampled on June 28, 2015.
The pour is a slightly murky brown color under a modest, lasting tan head.
Check out all of those sweet malts and brown sugar elements on the nose. Backyard moss too. Thin hop character but it smells very sweet.
Medium body.
The taste is very sweet and there is a modest hop profile that comes in on the backside. Molasses too maybe. Yeasty funkiness.

Tons of foam on the pour and I hate foam. But great taste.

12 oz bottle. Pours brown with tall, long lasting, fluffy, off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of dark fruit, coffee and toasted malt. Body is full and crisp. Taste is of toasted, nutty malt, herbal hops, coffee, chalk, dark fruit and brown sugar. Finish is long, astringent. OK brew to try it once.

12 oz. bottle, unfortunately the space for the "bottled on" date is blank. Quite murky as expected from an unfiltered ale. Just about two fingers of foam leave some sparse lacing. Earthy aroma, roasty and a bit chocolatey. Hops contribute some floral notes, and even a bit of earthy dankness, which is a bit unexpected for East Kent Golding and Target.
Earthy and malt-forward on the palate, though there's enough bitterness to push this more toward the American end of the brown ale scale (playing to the home audience, perhaps). Some roasted grain character and other malt complexity comes through just fine, though. The soft, non-prickly carbonation is appreciated. Overall, this is a pretty tasty brown ale. It's good to a see a Jersey brewer tackle what seems to be an underappreciated style, and do it well to boot.
