The tradition of conjuring up Lowcountry magic continues in Hoodoo Imperial Stout. Dark and roasty, this Belgian-style Imperial Stout displays the rich flavors of a strong stout with the dry and estery nature of our house ale yeast. Flaked oats add a smooth and silky finish.

I got a bit of charred wood at first then it settled into a lactose, cream and roast. Some chocolate malt, dry and subtle, with a burnt ember and coffee finish. Light on feel it could use a bit more malt.

Pours black with small bar pour tan head, good lace.
Aroma is good roasted malts mainly coffee with some lighter chocolate notes.
Taste is the same as the nose but little stronger, good roasted malts. Strong coffee flavors light liquorice and peat hints of chocolate. Finish is bitter lightly dry coffee, vanilla hints and herbal hops.
Mouthfeel is full, good medium carbonation level.
Overall a good big stout, if I lived in Charleston good see having this regularly.

L: Dark murky brown. Finger of head stuck around with nice lacing.
A: Sweet milk. Roasty chocolate. Some dark fruits esters. Maybe some maple syrup?
T: A nice bit of chocolate and dark malts. Some raisins. Also a taste that reminds me of a milk stout with lactose. I assume it's the oats. Nice touch.
F: A bit thin. Tho creamy.
O: Not huge fan of the Belgian yeast character in a stout. But I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Well done.

Near black body with a half inch of beige cap. Roast, sweet malt, vanilla. Sweet and chocolaty. Prominent Belgian yeast character. Medium bodied. Tasty.

A: The beer is essentially jet black in color—traces of dark red are visible near the bottom of the glass when it is held up to a bright light. It poured with a half finger high tan head that gradually died down, leaving a thick ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of chocolate malts are present in the in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, having flavors of chocolate malts with additional hints of Belgian yeast and dark fruits.
M: It feels a bit shy of being medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is lighter in body for what I would expect for an imperial stout. Nonetheless, it's very chocolatey and the hints of Belgian yeast and dark fruits add an European touch.
