South Carolina Peach Sour Ale. Brewed with wild local yeast harvested from the skin of a peach, lactobacillus, and 420 lbs of freshly picked organic peaches from Watsonia Farms in Monetta, SC. Tart, refreshing, lively, natural. This beer is from the flora of our state’s most prized crop. Savor the season in a glass.

L: Had this beer on-tap, poured into a pint glass at Gene's Haufbrau. Had a brilliant golden yellow color and a clear texture. There was a small amount of foamy head that quickly dissipated. No lacing to speak of.
S: Definitely a striking aroma of peach, kiwi, a sourness, and a vinegary quality.
T: Like the smell, the taste was both off-putting and intriguing. Tasted of a fair amount of fruit elements - the advertised peaches and kiwi - but also had yeasty quality to it. A musty taste. The vinegar element of the flavor is pretty deterring and doesn't mix well with the fruit.
F: A below average amount of carbonation with a smooth, lively finish. Light-bodied.
O: This is a mixed bag of a beer. There are some interesting things going on here, but it doesn't quite succeed.

As the last review appears to be some time ago I can attest to the fact that this must be very much improved. No vinegar at all this was a perfect blend of sour, tart, fruit and sweet. The peach was spot on and the blend or sour and sweet was right on mark.

Pours a musty, golden (peach-ish) color and has a nice sour peach smell to it. The taste is not quite as tart or sour as i desire as it leans more towards the peach side. Drinks a clean, smooth body that is one of the best parts of this beer... overall a nice beer, nothing special, but definitely above average.

Something a bit odd about this. Getting a bunch of vinegar. Some fruit, but not much. Funky and tart, but the vinegar overtones is really killing everything else. Some lacto and yogurt in the back ground. Not a fan of this beer. Hopefully it was a bad bottle and not what this beer is supposed to taste like.
