A: A pale yellow cloudy brew. Not as much head as one would expect from a pils.

S: All the correct pils smells are there. Nice and bready and hoppy. Though I was picking up a bit of a lemon smell that seems weird. (Maybe dish soap from the glass?)

T: Nice. Though not as crisp and bracing as a Pilsner Urquell or something, it still was a superior pils to what the average German macro pils like a Bitburger or a Veltins in my book.

M: The unfiltered nature of the beer makes this one full bodied and not very fizzy, the hops are there, but again, not at the forefront.

D: An entirely drinkable Pils. If you have some Miller/Bud addicts over, this would be a perfectly good way to introduce them to the world of decent beer. A crowd pleaser.

A local German deli replaced their keg of Zwickel with this. Loved the Zwickel - it is the German lager equivalent of Hazy IPA. This is hazy too, maybe unfiltered. Straw color. Closing my eyes, Naturtrübe tastes more like a Pilsner than most German so-called Pilsners. I estimate IBU between 30 and 40. Nice flavor and body. WIth only 5% ABV it's great for lunch time - far superior to any Session IPA.

Served from a 500 ml flip top bottle.
Look is hazy as expected.
Aroma is mostly malt with a hint of some yeasty artifacts.
Taste is a bit oxidized, with some hot bitterness.
Has a full mouthfeel, with minimal carbonation, which is nice.
Overall, I have had a much better version on draught, will not bother to buy the bottled version again.

Malt forward, apricot like taste. Sweet, aged, and very syrupy. Extremely sticky if spilled. Flat and poorly carbonated. Worst Pilsner I’ve ever had — I made an account to get the word out on this overrated beer.

i agree with the below review by Stoned Trippin'.... besides, he knows his shit.... but this is a nice, easy pils that pretty much lost its bitter attachment and is very refined.

affordable swing top brutally underrated here i think. it opens with a pop and there is rushing carbonation the whole time, even from a cheap hotel plastic cup, and i let it sit awhile, it never dies. its crisp but not so much that it isnt flavorful, and the texture overall is money, bubbly and upbeat, light but not watery, nice. the flavor is good, honestly german, but mild through and through, lightly herbal but not hoppy really, and without any pils type bitterness which can sometimes be appropriate in these. its almost got a wheaty softness to it, and there are subtle banana and white pepper notes to it, organic and rustic and earthy for a lager, light oxidation but this doesnt seem past its prime to me at all, mostly due to the mouthfeel. if you want some overly refined lobotomized lager, this isnt your beer, but if you like some character and a lot of life, this should be pretty agreeable, and you absolutely cannot beat the price, my god! quintessentially german, well made, timeless, drinkable, and budget friendly. what more do you want?!

Pours a foggy dark orange with two fingers of khaki foam. Head retention is great. Aroma is nutty, caramel, berries, dark fruits and crackery, bready, biscuity malts. Really round smoothness right up front with a very light malt dryness behind. Flavor profile is nutty, biscuity, crackery, and bready malts. Subtle nuances of dark fruits, clove and raisins add a little sweetness and complexity. Mouth feel is medium thickness with a very subtle, soft effervescence that drinks more still than crisp. Overall, malts are simple and focus on bready malt qualities with subtle sweetness notes sprinkled throughout.

Served in a 15.5oz Spiegalau tulip from a 500mL flip-top bottle.

0.5l swingtop bottle.
Unfiltered keller-like Pilsener.
Hazy golden with decent white head, ok retention, some laces.
Smell - bready, doughy, corny.
Taste - grainy, bready, decent bitter finish.
Light body, medium carbonation.
Reasonably hoppy specimen.

500 m.L swing top bottle

A burnt golden color, very slight haze, medium sized, pure white foam top. Holds tight.

A very sweet, bready malty aroma. Honey soaked, frest baked bread, green veggies, sour, earthy German lager yeast funk and spice racK herbal hops.

Still, a very sweet, bready malt dominated flavor. Sour Dough bread, heavy on the sweetness. Big sour notes from the grains and pils yeast. Rather funky really but spot on to style.

Very clean, light bodied, not zippy or crisp, but very smooth, easy on the palate. I'm used to crispy pilsner with a dry bite, this one comes off a bit too relaxed and flat. Clean and light body regardless.

Heavy bready malt and sour flavor's dominate ...seems pretty authentic and old world, but remains pretty strange in most aspects.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of May 2017. Acquired a little while back from Aldi. Described on the label as an unfiltered pilsner.

A: Poured into a pint mug. Bottle conditioned. A hazy golden-amber with fine sediment and plentiful carbonation. Produces a decent head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. The haze gives the beer an amazing translucent quality.

S: Aroma of grainy malt with hints of biscuits, stewed hops, mild husks, earthy yeast and a touch of DMS. Faint harshness in the background. OK.

T: Tastes of light, grainy malt with a crisp, dry finish. Notes of husks, stewed hops, mild biscuits, earthy yeast, a twinge of overdone veg and a harsh twang in the background. A subdued bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation. Decent body. Aftertaste of stewed leaves, earthy yeast and husky grain.

O: Drinkable but not outstanding. Looks great, while the aroma and flavour are rather bland - grain and vague stewed hops. Body is alright. Lacks the distinctive character that would mark a better pilsner. OK but no need to seek it out.

Light amber with a thick frothy head. Some haziness.
Grain, yeast and biscuit malt aroma.
Some sweetness in the flavour derived from notes of honey.
Reasonably well carbonated but quite light in body.
