Pours a darker shade of orange than it's Blonde counterpart, there's a fine froth around the edges, and a wispy collar of spotty lacing. Visible trails of rising carb in the glass.

Very estery yeast aroma, sliced apples come to mind right away.

Taste is slightly sweet and malty with a fruity apple note, and it finishes fairly clean. Body is light, though it has a little more substance than run of the mill macros. Soft carbonation with a mild level of astringency. Overall it was fairly drinkable, though I opted to use half for a chili recipe.

My sister bought a bunch of these for our 4th of July party, as the labels certainly fit the theme for the day. A beer company owned by veterans with beers brewed by veterans. 12oz brown bottles with no freshness date.

The beer poured a pale reddish amber color, similar to a Killians. The 1-finger white head only lasted about a minute and it left very little lacing.

The beer had a sweet caramel smell to it, and not much else.

Caramely sweet backbone with a touch of apples. Admittedly not very complex, yet I still found it very tasty. Not much in the way of hops, but enough to give it good balance.

Medium mouthfeel with medium carbonation.

A very simple yet tasty lager - a cut above the standard macros.

Served in an Ohio State shaker pint glass.

I met this guy once before in human form. Weird bus ride... Anyway, this stuff pours a clear pale sunrise amber-brass topped by a finger or so of lightly dirty white foam. The nose comprises dry caramel malts (right out o' the bag), light green apple, hard water, and a kiss of corn. The taste brings in more of the same, the apples and hard water fighting a bloody battle for distant second fiddle, much to everyone's dismay. The body is a hefty light, with a light moderate carbonation and a wet feel. Overall, I don't really know what to think of this. It's too dark and "flavorful" (in today's television commercial parlance) to work as a crafty-seeming replacement for adjunct lagers, and it's too bland and unassuming to work for much of the craft crowd. I don't see myself drinking this again, regardless, though not because it's awful. I kinda nothing this...

A: Darker brown, dulled somewhat. Coarse head that fades quickly and leaves very little lacing. A few loose bubbles rise.

S: Warm caramel, malt. Not much else, but it is appetizing.

T: Same as the nose, with a touch of raw malt/wheat in the background. The flavor is prominent and clear, and deep- surprising for a lager.

M: Creamy, full bodied. Faint but appropriate carbonation. This is a little heavier than I'd expect from the lager style, but it's better than choosing to go lighter.

O: A great lager, a few steps above what you'd typically associate with 'lager'. The color, smell, and flavor are all full and warm, and the mouthfeel is up there with some great stouts. There is quality in this, much to my surprise and appreciation. I'm getting a six pack for Independence Day.
