12oz pour at the Underground, YEGDT.
This beer appears a slightly glassy medium brassy amber colour, with one finger of loosely foamy, yet still pleasantly creamy dirty white head, which leaves a decent spectrum of melting iceberg shelf lace around the glass as it genially recedes.
It smells of somewhat bitter orange and watery grapefruit flesh, a further touch of lemon-lime citrus essence, soft bready caramel malt, a hint of metallic stoniness, and further floral, leafy hops. The taste is fairly pungent grapefruit, passionfruit, and blood orange rind, more grainy caramel malt, a pervasive wet breadiness, and muddled floral, moderately perfumed hops.
The bubbles are a bit peppy, and only edgy enough to actually make me notice them, the body medium-light in weight, for the style, and a bit too pithy in the overall smoothness. It finishes well off-dry, the caramel malt apparently less than prone to give it all up to the well-preserved bitter citrusy and piney hops.
An enjoyable IPA, in the end, the freshness and earnestness quite hard to ignore. Not overly complex, but that's hardly a defect. This is good now, but I suspect a few tweaks here and there, before the next time I come across this.

clear stubby 1L? growler poured into tulip 12/2/14, I can't think of seeing a growler like this before, like a jar with a small cap
A hazy amber with a few chunks of sediment, just a few slow bubbles but the pump out a wel sustained finger of foam that leaves lots of random lace
S brown sugar, pine, some tropical notes, bruised mango and papaya with a little sweet orange and vitamin C chewables
T not far off the smell, a little earthy, some rind but not over the top, some caramel and brown sugar, candied pineapple and just a hint of booze
M medium full, creams up a little from the bubbles, quite slick on the palate, a mild bitter bite and an orange caramel finish
O decent IPA from these newcomers, some balance to it and she went down pretty fast, something I'd try again in the future
I'm not sure how fresh this brew is, tastes like the malts come out just a little, that being said shes drinking fairly well and I loo forward to trying some other offerings from these guys

Enjoyed a pint on tap at Beer Revolution in Calgary, another "west coast" IPA from a BC craft brewery ... We live in a (wonderful) era where small places like Invermere can serve as a launching pad for some pretty tasty brews. Arrowhead's IPA is an orange-yellow amber color with some off-white head at the typical Beer Revolution modest level of intensity. Aroma is a subdued blend of mixed citrus rind, green leaf, resinous spice, and caramel. The taste is more bold and assertive, hitting the drinker with some orange and grapefruit pulp and pith, vegetal green flavors like fresh grass or perhaps parsley, smoky hash pipe resin, and light menthol, perhaps a whiff of lemon-lime, with the malts buried in there somewhere, winking through with some toast and toffee notes. Moderate in both body and carbonation, albeit with the fresh hop fireworks contributing to a fairly peppery, nigh-prickly mouthfeel. This is a dank and spicy west coaster all right, with the experience perhaps being enhanced (or degraded if the green notes are too much for some) by a pretty fresh keg.
