Brewed as a tribute to the first beer of America, grown out of necessity in San Francisco. This Ale recipe is fermented at ale temperatures using a lager yeast. As one of CoStar’s first official brews, this is one they are truly proud of (in fact, it gave birth to the concept for Hopland Park). Based in a pale malt with a crystal/caramel support, this brew looks a handsome gold and has the body to prove it. Starting bitter and finishing dry, it is an enjoyable beer that pairs well with grilled protein, especially chicken.
