Whoa.
RI brewery finally makes a pretty solid IPA?

A: Yellow/OJ/Tangerine color. Mostly clear, but a slight persistant haze (hops or chill?)

S: Obvious citrus, grapefruit/OJ, touch of tropical maybe.

T: Nice body for an IPA with a touch of sweetness without being bone dry or going too far into the sweet realm. Decent bitterness/balance without ripping my face off. Good hop flavor. Seems like a pretty oldschool hop bill (Cascade/Cent?) with maybe something else going on? (citra, amarillo or galaxy or something?)

M: Again, enough body and mouthfeel to hold it up. Not too dry and definitely not too sweet. Solid.

O- Looking forward to seeing more from this brewery. Definitely getting my attention with their first offering.

On-tap 2/23/2014 at Doherty’s East Ave Irish Pub, in Pawtucket, RI served in a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light gold color, with a short off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains citrus, caramelized malts and grassy hops.

T: The taste starts out with some caramel and citrus sweetness. Then a strong but not over-powering hops presence comes in. The malt character is hearty but not too heavy and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly hoppy.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, good kick, good representation of style, this is a solid IPA to drink for a while.

Hazy, golden, tasty, very drinkable. Definitely worth a trip to try it. I believe it's also on tap at a few places around RI. I have a howler in my fridge right now and want to open it, but it isn't 8am yet ;-(

Poured from a 32oz howler into an Alchemist Wili Becher. Filled yesterday.

Lighly hazy gold with half finger of bubbly white head that leaves no lacing. Smell is straight up mariljuana and pine with light grapefruit notes. It just smells like weed. Taste is very similar. Pot, pine, tangerine, grass. Super earthy and herbaceous. Carbonation is soft, probably due to the howler. Easy to drink with the 7.8% not in the forefront.

Nice IPA from a new brewery in RI.

Served in a Proclamation glass at the brewery (tulip shaped)

A - Orange, light amber, tangerine color, slightly hazy. Decent head that dissipates over a couple of minutes.

S- Usual suspects of grapefruit and citrus, hints of melon and honey as well.

T- Great tasting, semi-balanced but leaning toward hop forward IPA. Decent amount of hop flavor without ripping your face off with bitterness. My girlfriend even kind of liked it and she *hates* ipa? (IKR?)

M- Light to medium body. Enough body and malt to hold up the hops, but it definitely doesn't get in the way.

I've tried 3 beers now from Proclamation and all of them are *very* solid. Waiting for them to release some new stuff so I can try more.
