On draft at Aidan’s Pub in Bristol RI.

Look is hazy golden yellow, almost opaque. Moderate head, fine bubbles.

Smell is dizzyingly good. Lucious stone fruit, grape fruit, some lemon and pine, and something tropical.

Taste follows the smell. Almost creamy, borders on a milkshake IPA. Up front grapefruit and stone fruit, mixed tropical notes, a touch of dankness, mild bitterness on the back end.

Feel is bubbly, effervescent, almost champagne like.

A virtually perfect hazy NEIPA.

Light gold and cloudy, with a big rocky head that lasts forerver.

Distinctive moderate aroma of orange and grapefruit from the citra hops, with a faint wheat and lactose aroma in the background.

The flavor is clean and slightly sweet, but mostly bread and lactose rather than malt. The hop flavor is evident, in addition to the hop aroma. There is almost no bitterness, just enough to balance the slight sweetness.

Highly carbonated, with a medium light body and a soft mouthfeel. The finish is mostly clean, with a slight lingering, citrusy sweetness.

This is the hazy-juicy American pale ale equivalent of a milkshake IPA. If you like milkshake IPAs you'll probably like this APA a lot. (Personally, I don't like the taste of lactose in my beer, and I prefer hazy rather than cloudy.)

Murky orange body with a white head. Aromas of orange, grapefruit, lime, and light hop bitters. Taste starts with the same fruits plus some melon rind and very lightly pale malt, hops finish is basic but clean. Feel is medium-light bodied, smooth and study without being cumbersome at all. Exactly what you would expect in a good way

Canned 11/2/20, “Democracy eve” stamped on the bottom of the can

I only went to Proclamation once, but I’ve always had a deep appreciation for them, regardless of the few iffy beers I had from them back them. It’s a shame that their owner, Dave Witham, passed away at such a young age. He was a huge part of the local RI beer scene, so this one goes out to Dave

Pours a hazy pale gold with 3 fingers of soapy white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing

The aroma is undeniably Citra, with a nice malty balance to keep it from being overly hoppy. I'm picking up on aromas of juicy orange, pineapple, underripe melon, lemon, light pithy grapefruit, some pine, and soft bready malt

The taste maintains the wonderful balance of tropical fruit and assertively bitter hops. On the front end, I'm tasting melon, pithy grapefruit, lime, and pale malt. The swallow brings notes of fresh pine, grapefruit, general citrus, and a crisp biscuity malt

A medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation resulting in silky and refreshing beer, especially for the moderate abv. Finishes almost entirely dry with a solid bitterness

I've always heard that Derivative is a very important beer series in the local scene. I've had the Vic Secret variant a few times at restaurants and bars but never reviewed it. After reviewing this, I really wanna try the whole series. Great stuff here. Cheers Dave, RIP

L: A pale and milky yellow hue with three fingers of ivory foam settling quickly to a quarter finger cap, climbing the glass and leaving sticky splotches of lace behind.

S: Spicy phenols, almost rye and cardamom. Lime, spirits, and tropical fruits, on added pour even bubble gum. It is really complicated, and fun for the olfactory exploration, though it’s a bit faint.

T: Follows the nose, more underripe pineapple and booze on the palate. Peppery and earthy also. Yellow papaya possibly.

As the beer gains a little temperature, it starts to adopt strange spicier aromas and tastes of green aromatics like a Sicilian pasta sauce! Never had anything like it!

F: Balance on the mouthfeel. Higher on the carbonation which suits it, off-dry, mildly bitter, juicy and creamy.

O: I wish most for a stronger aroma, but am impressed with the power this brew packs in its IIPA qualities at only 6% ABV. In that regard, points for pushing boundaries!
