Hand-pulled pint at 'The Brewery Tap': the National Brewery Centre in Burton-on-Trent on 10 Apr 2013.
Pours a golden yellow with a white but thin head.
Floral nose and taste: like an English Summer garden (wet). I prefer it's big brother (White Shield) but this was OK, if a little delicate and subtle in its flavourings and depth of body. Malts do appear later in the taste, mildly biscuity, although not a dry, bitter beer it isn't really sweet either. Some fruity notes also in the blend as the beer warms in the glass.

Had this at the National Brewery Centre in historic Burton-on-Trent on cask.
Appearance: golden yellow, creamy white cask ale head, good clarity
Aroma: citrusy, slight tropical fruit aromas with slightly detectable burton plastic like phenolic aromas
Taste: not a very taste-filled beer, finishes tropical fruity and bitter, but not a lot going on when you swish it around in your mouth. Plastic like burton water quite recognizable.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body, smooth low carbonation
Overall Impression: A decent ale that combines some refreshing tropical fruitiness with buront water and soft malt background.
