Poured from a bottle into a New Belgium snifter. The pour is slightly hazy with a pretty reddish-brown color and a massive frothy white head that slowly dissipates. The nose has some sweet malty notes and some allspice and cinnamon.
Medium body and a sweet, spicy flavor. Nice toffee-like malt up front and allspice and cinnamon to provide balance. I don't get a lot of pumpkin, but it is enough to complement the malt and spices nicely. A fair amount of flavor for a non-imperial pumpkin beer.
Overall, an above-average offering. It seems a bit unfair to compare this to an imperial pumpkin beer (like Schlafly's or Pumking), but since ABV doesn't factor into my ratings, it should come as no surprise that this one doesn't quite reach the upper echelon.
