The body reveals a cloudy and dull copper with a billowing white head of dense foam.

The nose is weak caramel malt, barley grain, bran and a touch nutty pecan.

The flavor is light on barley, very malty with a dry roasted nut, pecan, tea leaf and a slight toast flavor.

The feel is dry but easily approachable and quenching. There's a thickness and thinness to it that leaves you guessing.

This is a Pale Ale reserved for the malt enthusiasts and not for those who want a hoppy ride.

12 FL. OZ. bottle
Served in a snifter

A - It is orange in color with some amber highlights. There is yeast suspended in it. This beer is topped with an inch of off-white head that meagerly clings to the glass.

S - The first thing I notice is grapefruit. There is also maybe a little pine. I smell more citrus as it warms.

T - The taste starts out kind of weak. I get some mild hops. This taste grows with each drink and as it warms. I taste some mild citrus which I find refreshing.

M - Moderate

O - This is an easy drinking pale ale with a mild hop presence that is nice after 12 hours in the heat. It has just enough hops to make it enjoyable but is by no means overwhelming.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. There is some random code on the bottle but it means nothing to me in terms of a bottling date.

Pours a hazy dark copper with a quick half finger white head that is then gone. Just a few random splotches of lacing and head.

The aroma is fairly weak but I can pick out some light tropical fruit along with a touch of pear and peach. Can't really detect any malt at all.

The flavor has more fruit than the aroma but is still on the weak side. I feel this beer might have some age on it. Nice juiciness that is really leaving me yearning more a bit more. Turns into some pine closer to the finish. Just a touch of bread in the background. Bitterness is on the moderate side with a light mouthfeel.

Overall, I feel this could be a respectable APA when it is fresh but it falls off quickly. I need to try to find a fresher sample.
