A: Pours a clear golden amber with a thin, creamy, clinging white mousse.

S: Gentle, approachable aromas of biscuit, caramel, minerals, lemon, lime, moist grass, herbs, and bitter orange are surprisingly well integrated on the nose.

T: Notes of herbs, grass, lemon, lime, bitter orange, and grapefruit are balanced by notes of leather, caramel, minerals, toffee, biscuits, and crackers. The finish is clipped and dry with mild citrus, herb, mineral, and biscuit flavors.

M: Light in body and dry. Carbonation is active, airy, and delicate. This ale is very easy to drink, but also feels a bit slight and insubstantial for my taste.

O: Far from an earth-shattering APA, but also far from bad, this ale is a bit slight and watery for my liking. I'm beginning to think that New Holland's pale ales just might not be my cup of tea.

The body reveals a cloudy and dull copper with a billowing white head of dense foam.

The nose is weak caramel malt, barley grain, bran and a touch nutty pecan.

The flavor is light on barley, very malty with a dry roasted nut, pecan, tea leaf and a slight toast flavor.

The feel is dry but easily approachable and quenching. There's a thickness and thinness to it that leaves you guessing.

This is a Pale Ale reserved for the malt enthusiasts and not for those who want a hoppy ride.

12 FL. OZ. bottle
Served in a snifter

A - It is orange in color with some amber highlights. There is yeast suspended in it. This beer is topped with an inch of off-white head that meagerly clings to the glass.

S - The first thing I notice is grapefruit. There is also maybe a little pine. I smell more citrus as it warms.

T - The taste starts out kind of weak. I get some mild hops. This taste grows with each drink and as it warms. I taste some mild citrus which I find refreshing.

M - Moderate

O - This is an easy drinking pale ale with a mild hop presence that is nice after 12 hours in the heat. It has just enough hops to make it enjoyable but is by no means overwhelming.
