Vintage 2011. Imperial hatter from new holland. I had high expectations from this.

Pours with very little to no head. Amber- light copper in color. Translucent appearance. Some bubbles. Seems low on carbonation. After observing it in more details, you see a layer of greenish, wooden color at the top, which i assume is due to dry hopping and probably due to its age.

Smell is inviting, grass piney and citrus with tinges of grapefruit. Not the very best but still good and consistent smell. Again, seems a little subdued. Could have been stronger for a DIPA.

Taste is its drawback. Very sweet or lacking bitterness for a DIPA. To me that is something that puts me off. Could have used more bitterness or may be it is due to its age.

Mouth feel. Light to medium bodied. Does not feel full. A little oily and resinous towards the end.

Does it meet my expectations? Partially. Not a Rockstar DIPA but still a very good experimentation IPA. Worth a try. Like its alcohol strength. Packs a punch for sure. Gosh this is strong. Performs this well because of its alcohol.

Poured from a bottle with a hazy copper color and a decently foamy white head. Has an okay pine aroma. Taste begins with a sweet citrus flavor before turning into a dry pine flavor towards the end. There is a light amount of hops for an imperial IPA, and even the flavor is lighter than I’d expect. This is a decent beer overall, but not a great imperial IPA. I prefer New Holland’s Mad Hatter to this.

A - Pours a dark amber with a one-finger foamy white head. Light amount of lacing.

S - Not much of an aroma. Light amount of tropical fruit and some bready malt.

T - Nice blend of sweet caramel malts and tropical fruits. Good amount of piney hops in the finish. The hops produce a good amount of lingering bitterness in the finish.

M - Heavy bodied with medium carbonation. Dry and sticky mouthfeel.

O - A very decent DIPA. Would definetly drink again.

Pours a hazy deep amber hue with a lasting thick off white head. The aroma is super hoppy. Grapefruit, pine, and grass abound. It sips clean and sticky as any good dipa should. The hoppy resin just coats the mouth in a bbeautiful way. The taste is definitely hop forward with tons of citrus and pine resin up front but there is a generous amount of malt balancing the flavor out. This is a very hop forward beer thatd please any hop head but it is also quite well balanced. It is no 90 minute but it is a damn good imperial ipa.

A- Dark amber and solid. Two finger soapy head that lingers. Abundant lacing.

S- Dank citrus notes especially grapefruit.

T- Hops. Bitter citrus. Lasting aftertaste with a mild peppery heat involved somewhere between.

M- Incredibly smooth and crisp. Perfect carbonation with every sip.

O- Great rendition of an imperial IPA. Tons of in your face hop bitterness with a dense malt balance, the backbone of a well put together beer. True to style, this IPA will satisfy most hop heads. Including myself. Cheers!
