The beer poured a hazy copper color body with a creamy white head which left decent lacing. With a constant stream of bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass. The aroma was very citrus grapefruit hoppy which could be from the Cascade hops. The taste followed to aroma closely with a citrus hops flavor and then a slightly toasted malt flavor creeps in late in the taste. The mouthfeel was light and finished very dry. There was pleasant carbonation present on the tounge. My only complaint with the beer was that the aroma made me think I was going to be drinking a huge hop bomb but the hops bill could of been more intense for me.

very underrated IPA, enjoyed 2 of these with some meatloaf and mash potatoes after getting off work at 11pm.

just enjoyed 2 of these with baby back ribs, hamburger, hot dog, and NJ sweet corn.

a very grapefruit forward aroma and fantastic citric taste. maybe it's me but i love centennial hops. i never had this before it was "updated" but the new update has made this beer fantastic, it might be my new go-to ipa

Pours a hazy, dull orange with a slightly off white head
with superior side glass lace and good retention.

Aroma: leads with citrus hops. along with some bready malts.

Taste: More of the same, citrus with notes of grapefruit and spicy hops
balanced with toasty malts. Nicely balanced IPA.
Has a dry bitter finish.

Clear golden color, with a small snow-white head and modest carbonation.

A immediate and juicy citrus smell. Also feel some subtle caramel in the nose. Great smelling beer

Taste is dominated by bitter hops and malt. The citrus character prevalent in the smell is not at all as present in the taste. I detected a sourness in the aftertaste as well. A disappointment after the glorious smell.

Carbonation is quite light, as this remains a very drinkable beer.

Paid $11 for a sixer.

Very hazy dark amber with a lot particulate. Great citrus aroma with predominantly citrus hoppy bitterness in taste. Malty enough to not be a complete hop bomb, but very little sweetness from the malt. Lower carbonation and slick feel. Really enjoyable IPA.

Holy hop aroma. Intense hop aroma as soon as popping the top. Poured into glass and the hop aroma kept building. Some citrus and some pine.

A bit hazy in appearance. Taste was sweet, almost with some honey and some biscuit. Citrus and pine hop flavors to counter. Pretty well balanced. But maybe a little sweet after taste.

A huge upgrade over mad hatter 1.0!

Wow. The reformulation is no joke here. Lots of citrus and some tropical fruit with an assertive, yet not over the top bitter finish. This is a very underrated IPA. For the cost and availability, it's up there with Two Hearted for me. 90+ is a no-brainer here.

Very much like the redialed 2015 variety...great aroma from the (all Michigan) grown hops. I think that is pretty cool. Little bit of extra malt then I prefer, but a very solid IPA. Will definitely purchase again when seen fresh in the store.

Had on tap at the Park Bar in Detroit. Poured a hazy, light-amber color with a bit of orange. Hard to judge appearance accurately, it was served in an opaque plastic cup. Head disappeared quickly but left a very thin layer along the top. Easily brought back with a swirl of the cup. The smell was very hoppy, floral, earthy, and a bit grainy with some very faint citrus and grapefruit notes. The hop bite was present in the taste, but overall pretty mild for an IPA. Slight citrus on the tongue as well, along with a floral/pine aftertaste. Not much malt to the taste. Medium body, ever so slightly sticky, but it leaves a pretty dry finish on the mouth.

Pretty decent IPA here. Nothing spectacular, but it's very drinkable and could easily be a nice session beer due to its relatively low ABV and IBU for an IPA.

New Holland Mad Hatter IPA. 5.8% alcohol.

A- Pours a clear orange fluid with mild carbonated head that falls to a medium foamy ring around glass. Great lacing clings to the glass.

S- The smell is ripe grapefruit with hints of fresh grassy noles, light citrusy peel scents as well.

T-M- Fresh hop flavors of citrus, grapefruit and yeasty malt kick. Mouthfeel is smooth with little to sway you from drinking heavily.

D- Excellent beer.

Pour/Appearance: Dark Amber, nearly reddish in color, thick 1 finger head, which remained throughout the drink and left lacing on the glass.

Smell: Citrus, slight yeast, and strong hops

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied ale, light carbonation.

Taste: A complex IPA, started quite fruity with citrus that switched to a roasted malt flavor with earthy hops.

I enjoyed the complexity of it as the taste changed from start to finish.

Served during in a pint glass during "Pint Night" at Tyler's Taproom in Apex, NC.

A: Decently golden in color with a slight orange hue. White foamy, slightly uneven head of about 1/2 inch or so. Good lacing.

S: Citrus and floral hops are well combined and very pungent. There's not much else going on but the aromas are incredibly pleasant and inviting.

T&M: The first rush is all hops, nicely bitter but with an interesting light mellow sense about it. The malts kick in just about then... complex and light in flavor relative to the hops but it allows for something near balance in texture. Carbonation is light and fine, allowing for just a bit of a creamy mouthfeel - an interesting contrast to the cutting bitter hops. Finish is long and hoppy, with a slight oily moughtfeel and more hops lingering on.

D: I had about half of the pint on its own before the food arrived and it was very enjoyable. It went down easy and was incredibly satisfying. When the food arrived, I did notice that the brew changed completely to me. The bittering components came through much more sharply and some of the smoothness fell away. But you can't beat it for a palate cleanser! It was like a fresh experience with each bite. I have to say that this is very enjoyable and highly drinkable. Recommended!

Purchased from 3 Corners Liquor in Medford, MN. Pours a slightly hazy orange-amber body with a thin white head that caps. Aroma is dominated by citrusy hops. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavor is nothing but green apple sourness. This might just be one bad bottle out of many, but consistency counts in my book.

12oz bottle pours into my glass a nice clear peach/orange hue with a half inch of tight white bubbles on top and a bit of spotty lacing. Lookin good so far. Aromas start off with a nice mix of lightly piney and citrusy hops...the citrus shines through moreso. Its backed up by a sturdy caramel, somewhat biscuity maltiness. Nicely balanced overall, but lacks a bit of the hop punch I look for.

First sip brings a caramel infused biscuity maltiness upfront that has a touch of a toasted aspect to it. This is quickly followed by a rush of citrusy, earthy hop bitterness that has a tinge of pine to it as well. Flows down smooth and crisp with the sweetness hitting upfront and the fairly mellow bitterness playing clean up on the way down. A nice brew overall.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and a bit chewy with a good steady carbonation. An easy drinking IPA overall that is mellow compared to my hophead standards, but still fits well inside the realm of a well balanced IPA. I have enjoyed this one in various incarnations at festivals in the past and I'm always down for a pint!

S_Piney earthy hops and sweet malt.

T_Caramel malt at first and then crisp hops. Earthy, grassy, piney hops.

M_Thick and creamy.

D_Great session IPA. Put off trying this one for a while but will be coming back. Didn't see a freshness date though which is discouraging.

Pours a hazy golden orange with lots of miniscule floaties. It has a white pillowy head that retains well and leaves some lacing.

Its aroma is piney, grapefruity centennial hops...yum! It dissipated rather quickly though.

The flavor is some sweet doughy malts followed by a big bitter bang. It has a strong lingering bitter floral hop aftertaste, almost a bit too much. It's similar to the Founder's Centennial and Bell's Two Hearted, but definitely less balanced. The mouthfeel is a little on the thin side.

Overall, a nice IPA. A little unbalanced though.

Poured from the bottle a nice golden with a thick and creamy head. Scents of freshness, fruity, hops. The taste is very hoppy with a nice bite to it, very good flavor. Visually pleasing label, and I always enjoy ones that entertain me. This one says it is "the most wonderful punch in the nose you'll ever experience". cute!
Very drinkable, nice session beer.

Burnt-orange to rust color, thin head that didn't last.

Grassy-citrus aroma but weak.

Nice bitter start then citrus and carmels come in. Leaves nice mouthfeel. Flavor doesn't explode on to tongue like other in this style. Medium weight. Kind of weak ABV for style.
