Pours a copper hued amber with a large off white head, good head retention and lacing. Aroma is floral citrus hops, some grapefruit notes and caramel malt. Taste same as aroma , has a nice citrus grapefruit hops bitterness and caramel malt sweetness. Palate is a medium body, smooth and good carbonation. Finishes with caramel malt, grapefruit citrus fruity notes, some yeast and a good dose of floral citrus hops. Overall, this was quite good, tasty and nicely balanced.

I first tried this at the GABF in Boston in the Spring. Very small sample of a couple of ounces, but enough to like it, although not enough to rate or review at that time. Since then New Holland began distribution in Massachusetts, so I bought a single to reconfirm my impressions of it.

Bottled July 23rd 2014. so just about two months old. Bought last week in a mixed six.

Poured from the 12 oz. bottle into a Lawson's tulip.

a: Clear copper with a finger plus offwhite head which receded to even surface foam and dense lacing.

s: Mild pine. The floral notes it is supposed to sport may have faded after 2 months.

t: Piney hops forward over a medium caramel malt base. Bitterness lingers briefly.

m; Very smooth medium, good body and carbonation tingle.

o: A nice IPA, a good dinner drink with spicier foods, and also a very good sipper. Competitive with most of the NE field, although at its price point (c.$12/6) it's rather high, even for an out-of-region brew. Some hopheads will prefer lighter malt and citrusier hops and I do as well, but I also enjoy malty/piney and this is such, at least at this stage of its life.

Really a great beer! I am not 100% sure what the piney lemony to me 90s taste is.....but this beer has it and I really like it!! aftertaste is very smooth and dry as well. I wish I got a little more alcohol for the money! 12$ for a 6! and only 5.25%! but it still tastes great! I would love to try it on tap somewhere! I am on my 2nd 6 pack of this and that is rare for me!
