I poured this 12 oz. bottle into a nonic pint glass.
A: clear dark mahogany, an aggressive pour produced a 2-finger cappuccino-colored head which quickly fell into a good cap with decent lacing.
S: coffee, chocolate, caramel malt, a hint of farm cheese, fruity/floral note.
T: sweet caramel malt and milk chocolate up front, the middle features roasted grain, mocha/coffee and tree fruit, and the finish is lightly bitter and a hint of chalkiness. Very nice.
M: medium-weight, lightly creamy, low carbonation, gently chalky finish.
D: pretty damn tasty, and probably the first brown ale I have truly enjoyed. To my palate it is like a stout "lite." I would definitely get this again.
