Well this is currently my favorite RIS, and for what that's worth RIS is my favorite style. This beer blows me away every time and is truly something special.
This beer really takes the cake in the smell and taste categories, it is just so incredibly complex. The alcohol is perfectly balanced and every sip just makes me sit and think. I feel like more and more is revealed in the beer every time I drink it, and this has become the measurin stick I judge many of my other RISs by.
If you haven't had this one you're missing out. Have this alone the first time you try it, and then with someone who knows their beers and in particular RISs the next time you have it.
My father in-law and I really go nuts for this beer and we always have a good time drinking and exploring it
Truly, truly a sipping beer.

Poured into a Due South Brewing Co. snifter. Bottleneck says A024 meaning it was bottled 1/2/14.
A- Pours a fully opaque black color with a 1/4 inch dark tan head that retains a bit before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and randomly spackled surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves a broken ring behind.
S- Sweet, roasty, somewhat boozy aroma gives off notes of vanilla, dark chocolate, coffee and some moderate char.
T- Dark roast comes on nicely, turns boozy mid-palate and gives way to a charry finish. The alcohol becomes even more apparent after a few sips. The chocolate and vanilla notes are there but struggle to be seen amid the heat and fume.
M- Somewhat creamy but gets a little lost in the alcohol burn. Also thick and a bit syrupy. Medium-low carbonation and a full body.
O- I was expecting better. Maybe I should've let the bottle sit for another 3-6 months? Just has too much heat and the flavors aren't properly aligned.
