Bottle at 45 degrees into standard pint glass
Aroma of roasted malt, bourbon
Head small (2 cm), light brown, mostly diminishing to a broken 2 mm ring
Lacing OK – small islands of small bubbles
Body dark brown/black, opaque
Flavor begins with a moderately sweet bourbon taste, ends with a lightly sweet lactose taste; no alcohol, no hops, no diacetyl. Ends with an alcohol stomach burn.
Palate medium, creamy, soft carbonation.
This is an average bourbon barrel stout – nothing special. Appearance is OK, aroma promises goodness that the taste doesn’t provide. Once again, the palate is the best part of this beer.
