Pours a deep brown opaque color with garnet highlights at the edges and a thin later of milk chocolate head that dissipates leaving no trace.

Booze, malted milk balls, molasses, and oak lead the nose, with nutty roast malt forming the backbone. Hints of plums and raisins surface, and a hint of earthy hop.

Flavor is dominated by dark fruit initially, raisins, figs, and alcohol linger throughout. Roast malt surfaces late, with oak and a hint of citrus rounding the profile. As it warms chocolate dominates the taste.

Body is fairly thick, with minimal carbonation, and an alcoholic warmth can be felt throughout the sip.

A very tasty brew that could benefit from a little aging to soften the alcohol. Would definitely buy again.

A- Very dark brown with tan head that disappears quickly and leaves bubbles.

S- Roasted malt and chocolate.

T- The roasted malt and chocolate come through immediately with some oak and booze. Chocolate dominates the aftertaste.

M- Surprisingly light with little carbonation.

O- Good complex beer, but leaves me wanting a little more.

A- Beer pours deep brown with about a 1/2 inch tan head that laces nicely and persists in a ring around the glass. Where light makes it through, it appears deep ruby red.

S- The smell hit me as soon as I took the cap off of the bottle. First and foremost, I get a boozy smell that reminds me alot of scotch. Some nutty coffee tries to come through, but is mostly beaten back by this scotch-like smell.

T- Much like the nose, booze dominates the taste right up front. There is a taste that develops that I describe almost like the char you would find on a burnt steak, then ends with dark roast coffee.

M- Immediately causes a mild sting to the tongue, which I like. Feels fairly light in the mouth, I think as a result of the stinging/numbing I feel from it. Nice warming feeling that results from the ABV in this one.

O- This beer would be absolutely fantastic if there were a lower ABV version. The booze takes center stage here and is too much at times. If the underlying flavors didn't have to compete in this one, I would rate it much higher.

A - Pours a super deep, dark brown. Pretty much no head here, just a small ring around the edge. Lacing doesn't stick to the glass, viscosity seems a little weak

S - An ok aroma but pretty faint, bourbon oaky, vanilla, chocolate and maybe some cherry or other darker fruits

T - Thank god it taste very good, I was worried. Chocolate and cherries for sure, bourbon and oak, and vanilla. Definitely a bit boozy

M - Not nearly as light as the appearance would suggest, medium bodied plus for sure. More of a sipper but very good.

O - A good rich warming brew. Dark fruits and bourbon oakyness dominate.

Pours chestnut brown but passes no light through the glass. A modest tan head leaves some film and little lace.

This one is rather subdued, with a mix of chocolate, light bourbon, perhaps some vanilla. Lightly roasted malt adds little. As it warms, there is a suggestion of Kahlua.

The flavor follows the nose, however, it emphasizes bourbon, especially in the long finish. With warmth, cherry cordial comes out with a hint of oak. This one is substantially better at warmer temperatures.

A smooth texture, with lively carbonation, medium body and warming alcohol above expectation.

Paired with a cigar while reading, this one sips well. Other examples of the style are bolder, but this is a better match in the everyday line-up.
