22 oz bottle into Yeti snifter.

A - golden copper, off white head, a bit of lacing

S - pine and pineapple, slight spicy character, some sweetness coming through

T - starts with a lot of citrus bitter hops, then it transitions to sweet caramel, finally the aftertaste is like a shot made of 1 part grapefruit juice and 2 parts rye whiskey

M - creamy, but still with good spritzy carbonation

O - was worried with the aroma bring light on the rye, flavor killed it though, will need to try along terrapin rye squared and founders rye pa

Amber to a rich brass hue with a quarter inch of beige head on top. Brussels lacing. The aroma is an interesting melange of spicy rye, piny hops and light malt. The taste is rye and light malt in the forefront. The piny hops kick in and the back of the palate and then it is rye and light malt in the finish. The mouth is slightly sticky and the hops and rye gently tickle the tastebuds. Not my favorite rye IPA,but still worth checking out.

I picked up this 22oz brown bottle at the Binny's store in Bloomingdale, IL for just $4.99 a bottle. No freshness date, but the label says " 2012 Vintage" on it and this is already June of 2014, so I'm hoping this one isn't over the hill yet.

The beer poured a slightly hazed bronze color and made a 1½-finger white head that lasted about a minute. Lacing was decent.

This smelled like fresh baked rye bread with a little sweetness underneath. It was a great smell.

The beer tasted like rye bread with caramel drizzled over it. The dry hopping also gives it some citrus peel bitterness. The beer is very well balanced - not too sweet, not too spicy, and not too citrusy, with the end result being a delicious neer.

Smooth and medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

If you like rye beers, this is one you absolutely must try.
