Paid $14.49 for a seasonal 12-pack from The Party Source...

The beer pours a clear amber ale with a small white head, minimal retention but nice lacing on the glass. Spotty of sweet hops but there is much to the nose on this one.

The taste is mellow (light bodied), a little spice (anise?), mellow sweet malts, and a touch of very tasty and floral hops, nice blend but lighter than most; carbonation is minimal. Excellent in the mouth and at 5.25% it's a great session beer since it feels lighter than it is.

Final Thought: It's light but well-balanced enough to off-set any of those beer connoisseurs wanting a little more hop action.

Poured from a bottle a hazy brown with a very light white head. Aroma is slight caramel and malts. Taste is light on caramel, lightly sweet. Not a whole lot there, but not so little as to make this unenjoyable. Has a medium body feel and is smooth. This is just ok, but I’m beginning to wonder whether the amber ale style just isn’t my thing.

12 ounce bottle poured into a snifter glass

A - This offering pours up about the color of apricots. It is a little cloudy and has an initial one finger head, decent retention and good lacing.

S - Very bready with some understated floral notes. The smell sort of leaps out of the glass at you.

T - There is a distinctive tart character similar to the tartness found in apples. The finish is both dry (but not in a Belgian yeasty way) and bitter.

M - pretty good carbonation with medium thickness.

O - ho hum....another amber ale. Never hate them...never really love them either.
