Pours a dark brown with not much head or lacing after a few minutes. The smell is more porterish than stouty. A creamy caramel smell is there, along with some chocolate. A minor amount of roasted malt makes an appearance. Smells tasty.
Again in the taste, I get that creaminess and the chocolate. The roasted malt does show up a bit more, but there is also a lactic aftertaste which makes me a bit wary about the style. There is some roastedness as well, but I would characterize this as more of a sweet/milk stout or even a porter, rather than an American Stout. Not that it bothers me that this is where it fell or anything as I try not to let the style influence my rating very much, but those are my thoughts. The finish has some bitterness from the roasted malt, but not much hop bitterness.
Overall this is decent. I probably wouldn't pick it up again as there are always better options.

Love my stouts, especially oatmeal stocks. This poured as close to a jet black stout I normally enjoy. There still was a hint of brown which gave me the warm aroma of coffee and chocolate.
The head was small and dark. The first taste was on the small side with nice much of a big stout taste considering the oatmeal fame. The mouthful and finish were much nicer, so I needed to taste it again.
Each taste afterwards, I found more round and soft flavors coming out. Almost like the oatmeal was finally trying to push through.
Enjoyable beer, in the top of the oatmeal stouts I have had
