A red ale with rich and smooth flavors of malted barley, balanced by underlying hints of dark fruit. Brewed in homage to our hometown tulip festival, Red Tulip evokes spring's renewing spirit. Excellent with roasted pork, red-meats and dried fruit.

Oddly enough, because this isn't an overwhelming beer, this is the beer that started to turn me into a beer snob. I was bored and living by myself one summer, so I started trying out new beers available from Martin's Supermarket (South Bend, IN) down the street from my house. And this was the first I actually sat down and thought about reviewing properly. It had a very unique taste compared to your run-of-the-mill industry beers and I was hooked. It pours out a deep reddish-brown with a semi-thick head. It looks more like a brown ale than an amber. The smell is great - of roasty malts but mainly a very strong aroma of flowers. And the taste is much the same - a complex of roast and flowers and chocolates that works very well. It's a Spring release, but I didn't have any trouble finding it all summer.

Pint on tap at New Holland Brewing. Pours Orange with a thin head. Medium body ale with a pleasant aroma, with hints of fruit and florals, as well as a slight pine hops smell at the end. Tastes great, slightly fruity up front with a slightly char finish. A little caramel flavor, along with decent hoppy undertones. Great session beer!!

This is the staple of Tulip time in Holland, MI. It is a great beer that I wish could make it to more parts of the country. It is simple, but delicious. I remember having this for the first time during my first Tulip festival. I was somewhat a newby to craft beers, but I knew i liked this right off the bat.
