Located in downtown Holland, Michigan, it was a pleasure to finally visit the New Holland Brew Co. They are located in an old JCPenney building, so says a plaque on the outside of the building. The interior had a fancy ceiling of old, with newer heating ducts, and some unique compressed wood was used to wall-in their booths. We went at noon on a Saturday, and it wasn't busy at all. They had a thorough selection of their beers on tap, with something on cask as well, but not much that wasn't already bottled in some fashion. I had a Golden Cap Saison, and we enjoyed a pair of appetizers. The prices were reasonable, the waitress we had was very knowledgeable, and overall it was a good pub experience.
We also drove north a few minutes to the actual brewery for the tour, and it was excellent - I was especially pleased to receive a cup of on-tap beer - I chose the Imperial Hatter - to enjoy during the tour. The guide knew his stuff and casually interacted with us, and we felt free to explore the facility (within reason, of course). At the end we got samples of three of their beers, and a pint glass to take home - well, well worth the $5 cost.
