The New Holland brewery is highly under rated. I guess they kind of live under the shadow of Founders and Bells, but their beer is right there with both.
Stopped by the Brew Pub on our way to Kalamazoo from the Traverse City area. The atmosphere is very good. Nice, clean, bright brew pub. I understand the dark brew pub theme, but I prefer windows and natural light. The beers were excellent, as expected. I had the Dragons Milk and The Poet and Emily had the Imperial Hatter and Pilgrims Dole. The pizza was solid and priced right. I have a lot of respect for the New Holland product, and try to support them as much as possible. Their spirits are wonderful as well. The Zeppelin Bend is a great youthful whiskey.
Stop by if you heading towards Bells or Founders, its not far out of the way.
Edit: Stopped by again on a recent visit down to the Holland area. The pub still does not disappoint. Now featuring some really nice hand crafted spirits and cocktails, as well as added taps, and quite a few beer engines. A nice treat. They have added a nice little retail area so you can fill up on your swag. Well worth the stop, always something special on tap.

Atmosphere: Located in downtown Holland (8th St.), it is a pain to park, most days. There is ample indoor and outdoor seating. There is a processing vessel that is in use in the main brewery room so you get to see some of the brewers doing work inside the facility. Most of the equipment is in a different part of the production facility or offsite completely, I'm not sure. There are two family bathrooms and they don't kick out kids, as long as they are accompanied, so travelling/visiting with children isn't an ordeal. There are tables and high top tables inside for a variety of seating options (including the outdoor options in nice weather). The "chalkboard" is digital and is clearly displayed and can be seen from everywhere, which is nice, because you don't have to keep asking your server what's on tap. They also have a nice what's on tap menu (paper).
Quality: Although this isn't a farm to table place, a lot of attention was paid to the quality of the food, and the beer presentation. I always appreciate proper glassware and New Holland used proper glassware on the flights. The food was excellent (I had the olive burger and my companion had the black and blue salad), the beer was fresh and we were happy with meals and drinks.
Service: Beyond my expectations. Our server was pleasant, made great suggestions and when I asked about the beer, she fetched one of the brewers and he spoke to us for 20 minutes about the beer. They made us feel like we were important and valued guests and after also talking to the head distiller we ended up buying some of their artisan spirits as well. Tremendous all around.
Selection: I was disappointed that there were none of their sours on, I feel this should be a year round thing since Jolly Pumpkin is the only other steady sour producer in Michigan. Nice cross section of beers.
