Was randomly looking for a place to stop for dinner with my girlfriend on our way back from northern Michigan to Chicago. It just happened that we stopped in Holland, Michigan. Knowing that I enjoyed the beers from New Holland was definitely a draw, but I didn't realize that it was a restaurant too. Maybe I was bias, but I was like a kid on Christmas walking into this place. It was really cool to see all of the brewery (and distillery as I learned) where some really solid brews are made. It had an old warehouse like feel to the place, done intentionally to give it quite a lot of charm. The quality of the place was top notch, for a brewery like it was it felt like a neighborhood sports bar which was really cool for me. The service was pretty good, our waitress knew good recommendations for food and drink. If they made the beer, they had it. In fact it was so hard for me to choose I ended up having the whole sampler tray for my drink. It was well worth it. It turns out that on Tuesday (the day we were there) it was half priced non-high-gravity growlers. So I got myself a growler and was more than content with my visit. My girlfriend had some of their rum in a mixed drink and let me tell you it was some damn good rum. The foods that we had were excellent. The food was not particularly expensive at all it was reasonable and if it had not been for the purchasing of a growler and a bottle of the rum we would have not felt like we spent too much there at all. Both of us agreed we'd have no problem "randomly stumbling" back to this place on a return trip to Michigan.
