I had this place pegged as one of my lunch time destinations while on my MI tour. First off, Holland is a super cool little town that is worth visiting itself. The brewpub is on the corner of the main drag and a side street in a picturesque town center.
I parked around the back of the building and entered through the patio area. It was a semi-rainy/overcast day so the patio was not functioning.
I entered a large, open, airy/light room with a lot of tables and a huge cement bar running along the left side. You pass some brewing equipment (almost artwork like) along the way. Once in the main bar area, I realized that I entered under a loft that houses additional seating. Through a doorway from the bar, you enter a little gift shop are that has NH stuff (shirts, hats, glasses) and beer to go. They also have pre-made gift baskets available. Through another door there appeared to be additional seating (didn't venture there though).
I sat back at the bar and selected a draft that was not bottled (Scotch Ale) and a sandwich. The menu is pretty diverse and unique...it fits in well with the trendy area and décor. They had most of their beer available on draft, including their High Gravity Series.
The bartender was friendly and helpful. She asked me what types of beer I liked and made suggestions.
All in all, this is one of the best brew pubs I have been to. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is a fan of beer or even a fan of good food.
