Served on Tap at Barbecoa, poured dark golden with a decent head that did not clear out very quickly. The aroma was a bit sweeter than a typical craft lager with a bit of grass and hay but not much citrus. Tastes refreshing and crisp, again a bit sweeter than expected, caramel, hay, light bitterness at the end. Feels light on the tongue, nicely carbonated and medium light body. Overall, this is a decent lager a bit too sweet and would like a bit of citrusy zing to it but it went very nicely with my food and made me happy.

330ml Brown bottle, best before 18 Aug 2011, this was the second beer in my random tasting evening on 12 Aug 2011.

Poured into a Veltins Pilsner badged stemmed tulip glass: looked good, usual pale gold body with the snowy white head you'd expect to see on a lager/pilsner.

The aroma wasn't strong, but there were hints of caramel and malty molasses if you sniffed hard enough.

The taste was a pleasant blend of dry hoppiness and a front of sweeter malt flavours.

I can't pretend to be a big lager/pilsner fan, but this one was OK and certainly different and more interesting compared to the mass produced ones I've reviewed or drank when on holiday in hotter places than the UK.
