Can into tulip glass.11/20/15 100% chance of....

L. Clear copper, orNge with 2 finger head. Lacing is thick with tight bubbles.
S. Lots of pine and resin. Nice hops, not getting an malts. Which is awesome especially because how old this can is.
T. Nice hop forward, with pine no grapefruit. A bit of sweetness on the back end.
F. NIce light to light medium mouthfeel with medium carbonation.

Oh wow, so good. Purchased at their brewery in Brooklyn - purchased blind as I never had an Other Half before. First of all, love this place and the tasting bar next door. Such a great vibe. This beer is also amazing....not fooling around - a nice bitter punch, but an interesting aftertaste. I initially was taken aback, but after a number of drinks it is such a pleasant taste. I am glad I bought 16.....time to go finish them all. I may edit the post with senseless comments later on

L - dark orange, slight haze, head dissipates immediately

S - subdued citrus, herbs, new car smell

T - some malt, citrus pith, pine, not very bitter or sweet

F - fairly light, medium to high carbonation

O - a very nice IPA, but I prefer their Oat Overdose

Giant tropical aroma piercing through a fine looking beige head with nearly perfect lacing falls off to a little bit of malt sweetness. Tastes is a massive, abrasive, no nonsense spicy hop punch with a bit of grapefruit mixed in. Industrial grade bitter aftertaste that ends up leaving after a few seconds, probably because it loses interest in hanging out on a tongue. This beer doesn't screw around!

Really tasty brew by OH. Super tangy citrus, nice solid malt backbone, and a great bitterness that lasts on the palate. Some light nuttyness hiding in the back as well.

Picked this up a few weeks back along with the Simcoe, also having to carry this around through my Taxi shift and around the city before coming home. Sure enough, this beer was also worth the haul as it packed a subdued, but potent hop punch that never let up and was as unique as the design on the can, which was about as eye-catching as could be for something so minimalist!

Good pour to this but different than the Simcoe in that this was nearly clear and luminescent like amber with just a hint of sediment at the bottom of the can. Once again, the head was solid but settled quickly and there wasn't a lot of lacing to be seen on the side of my pint glass as I worked my way through this. Wonderful aroma that didn't fully come out until this warmed up as it consisted of equal parts dank, pine, weed, and pith as the darker notes came out more fully in the taste. Not terribly thick, there was a wonderful resin consistency to this that stuck around in the aftertaste as the hop oils softly emerged through the cacophony of flavors. Some tropical fruits and citrus pith could be found here but there was so much going on that I had to pause for a bit before picking them out!

The booze was certainly present, but not too strong as I could feel a slight warming effect once I polished this off. This was one of those beers that had to fully warm up and sink in before it grew on me but once it grabbed a hold of me, it never let go - even after I finished this off. The showers turned into a deluge that soaked my palate with a perfect body of resinous hop and fruit flavors that meshed seamlessly together, further proving that Other Half has it going on right now. Impressive stuff that ups the bar for what an American IPA is capable of.

Look is a hazy golden with a darker amber center. Big frothy head that quickly falls.

Nose is a lot of pine and citrus. Like pine needles rubbed in your hand with a little lemon zest.

Taste is malty on the first sip that opens up into a wonderful brightly herbal happiness. Very well balanced from back to front. Mouth feel is full and a little sticky.

Excellent beer.

Perfect light orange color with medium carb on it. Poured on tap at Other Half. Right up front you get a whiff of tangerine, citrus, bouquet, and its fabulous.

Taste continues with the tropical flavors but not as pungent and dank as an offering as their other IPAs. This is very smooth and balanced with a very soft malt backbone. This is a top notch IPA.

Bright copper golden with a big white head and lacing that doesn't stick. Notes of grapefruit, piths, pine needles and dank green stuff. Lighter side of medium, clean, crisp and slightly dry. This is another top tier IPA from Other Half.

16 oz can. Pours opaque amber-orange with thick white fluffy head that hangs around, slowly recedes, lots of lace. Citrusy aroma. Great tasting IPA, biscuit malt sweetness is met by citrus and pine for outstanding balance. The hops are a little resiny and carry well into the dry 'finish. Soft clean mouthfeel. Loved this one, will be seeking more out in the future.

Sampled pour from a 16 oz can. Cloudy orange marmalade with a fine white dense head. Nose is dank with candied orange notes. Taste starts with malt sweetness but is quickly overtaken by hoppy, piney bitterness. Tongue scraping finish.

This is the second time that I am trying this, and I am glad that I did. This is a very clean, delicious IPA. Other Half is doing some seriously good work. This is the lesser of some of the other IPAs that they have, which is really saying something.

Can, poured into a Hop Showers glass.

Cloudy yellow-orange color, with a lively puff of white head. Citrus zest and pale malts in the aroma, More of the same in the taste, hops--citrus, pine, herbs--biscuity malts, touch of toasted grains, light spice, light bitterness. Medium body, good drinkability. A decent albeit typical AIPA.

On tap at the brewery, first time having any Other Half brew - I was blown away. Delicate yet strong, balanced with an outstanding hop aroma. Tropical and incredibly drinkable.

Poured from one of their awesome tall boy cans into a tulip glass. Bright orange filtered body, thin white head. Tropical hops give me pineapple, orange, some pine. Taste matches the aroma, very well balanced. Great carbonation.

Like everything these guys do, Hop Showers is, quite simply, a hop-forward masterpiece and should be any hophead's desert-island beer. The single-hop series gets tons of love, and rightly so, but there's something about the hop blend in this beer that makes it pop similarly to some of my other favorite IPAs, including Julius and Sip of Sunshine.

Tasting glass at the Other Half taproom.

A= Orange/amber, thick frothy head, hazy.

S= A ton of citrus, lemon, grapefruit, juice and rind.

T= Resinous, dank, tons of citrus hop flavor but still easy to drink, not a bitter bomb.

M=Medium body with moderate level of carbonation.

O= Great resinous IPA, balanced and clean flavors, in the dank category flavor wise, lots of citrus aroma.

This beer has a deep dark orange body that is not see through. When first poured, the head appears white, fine, and creamy, but breaks down into a foamy, disarray or multi-sized bubbles. The body on this one looks bold. The smell on the other hand is similar to their Galaxy IPA, Green Diamonds, and Nelson. They all somewhat overlap one another. I would like for the aroma to be unique and distinct from other beers in the line up. Citrus and pine obviously stand out in the smell. A combination of citrus, pine, bitterness, and tang make up the taste. Everything meshes together well with the hops at center stage. A pretty good taste. The feel is substantial and the beer feels good in the box. Lower than medium carbonation, definitely not over carbonated. The right amount for me.

Overal - Over the past few days, I have had Galaxy IPA, Nelson, and Green Diamonds from Other Half. From Other Half, Hop Showers would be my go to beer. With Hop Showers, drink-ability and taste are a fit for me. All Green Everything is in the batters box.

A go to IPA.

On tap at the ginger man---light pale gold murky color... Creamy white foam....mutated nose, some light citrus.... Taste is also subdued but has a nice hoppy profile with a little citrus and slight metallic taste.... Mildly bitter finish, malt in the background--- overall very refreshing and one of New York's finest!!

On tap at Other Half Brewing Company in Brooklyn, NY.

This one pours slightly hazy and cloudy, colored a pale orange, with a half inch head, and a good amount of lacing.

Smells awesome, huge grapefruit citrus and orange character, with some slight pine. It just jumps out of the glass.

This tastes similarly awesome. It's tastes a bit more resinous than it smells, but in a fairly balanced way. Awesome combination of deep citrus and bitter, dank pine. It's hard to take too many notes on this one because it just went down incredibly easily. It just feels so well-crafted and awesome.

For me, the ABV range of 7-8% for IPAs is the absolute sweet spot. No sense of the alcohol here, very crushable- but it'll get you there and make you feel real nice if you have a few. It has a very juicy mouthfeel, and a moderate level of carboantion.

This is an awesome IPA, one of the best that I've ever had.

Excellent beer, had on tap at the tasting room. Cloudy appearance, big citrus on the nose. Taste is citrus with just the right amount of bitter. I will be heading to the brewery for their next can release of this one, outstanding all the way.

Orange body with a mild haze and a quarter inch of white head. Citrus, floral, pine aromas. Biscuit malt, pine, grapefruit rind. Medium high bitterness in the finish with a hint of warming alcohol. Pretty tasty.

16 oz. can poured into a snifter. Hazy orange body. Medium white head and collar. Smells a little dank and tropical. I taste pale malts first. A little bit of sweetness. Melon hop flavor. Pushes more herbal in the back. Medium carbonation and low bitterness. Unique combination of hop flavors, but pretty good.
