From a can dated 7/27/15. Excellent showcase of the Galaxy hop, balanced with a perfect malt finish. Other Half absolutely is killing it with their single-hop offerings.

thanks Mike for swinging by on your way home from the release to pop a can (and some other bottles). enjoyed side by side with fresh mastermind and hopcelot. brew poured deep murky orange. nose is sweaty dank galaxy hop. really has that other half vibe to it something in the nose and taste that I find similar in all their brews. really nice. super juicy...a bit boozy, overall a really nice brew. not my favorite of the single hops but far from the worst. other half keeps cranking out the goodness and this is no excepttion.

L -- Very hazy peach color, little head on a pretty light pour.

S -- Tons of mango and pineapple and strong peach notes. Slightly muted every time I've had it -- not as much of a burst of aroma as I expected. Some grassy notes to it as well.

T -- Follows strongly with the aroma, although with the inclusion of some resinous notes. The grassy notes persist and are added to by some floral knocks in the aftertaste.

F -- Medium, slightly resinous.

O -- A solid IPA. It has changed a lot of the three weeks I've been working my way through 8 of them, with 10-12 days being the sweet-spot for my palate on this one. It was quite juicy then, very strong citrus/tropical notes in the aroma and flavor, but that's dropped off a fair bit and more of the earthy/vegetal side of the hops have come through. I think at it's peak I'd give it about 4.3, but it doesn't have the best staying power.

On tap at Other Half Brewing Company in Brooklyn, NY.

This one pours a hazy orange color, with a half inch head, and a good amount of lacing.

Smells really richly and nicely of Galaxy hops- my favorite hop varietal. Lots of grapefruit, orange, and passionfruit, I'd say- with a pretty significant pine and dank herbal sort of character.

This is a really nicely well-done IPA here. Galaxy is a great single hop because it seems like it can impart some complexities that multi-hopped beers have. There's a good amount of nice exotic fruit flavors, passionfruit and mango, with a bit of grapefruit too. The finish is very herbal, moderately bitter, with some wet pine flavors. Awesome.

This is one juicy beer- so nice and bright to drink. The carbonation level is moderate. This one starts juicy up front, then finishes pretty dry.

Another superb IPA from Other Half.
