Bottle share. Inky black, ring of beige head. Chocolaty aroma, sweet roasty grain goodness rolls underneath. Silky texture. Taste is mellow chocolate, roast grains, gentle sweetness. Nice!

L: nice dark beer with huge head.
S: dark chocolate fudge smell. The nose tingles with some booze.
T: fairly straight forward beer. Some slight sweetness in the back. Not getting much complexity. It's a good beer but one dimensional to me.
F: smooth with some carbonation. Lingering feel.
O: good beer. Not great imo. But love.

On tap at Upright Brew House in NYC, pours pitch black color with a thick 2 finger brown head that was packed with bubbles and dissipated very slowly leaving incredible lacing that coats the sides and leaves rings as it went down. Perfect looking stout.
Smells of dark chocolate, burnt coffee grinds, cocoa powder, light piney hops, charred wood, burning rusted metal and smoked grains. It's smoky and ashy but the chocolate sweetness levels it out with some dark fruits showing up after it warms.
Wow, it's rich and chocolate-y with fudge brownies, burnt coffee and dark chocolate bar leading the charge. Next up is raisins and other dark fruit, red wine, piney hope, smoked grains, molasses, brown sugar, chocolate syrup and some mild bitter earthy notes which seem oaky. Very complex with the dominating chocolate somehow adding a lot of variety of chocolate flavors and some trailing vanilla.
Incredibly smooth for a 12% ABV beer, this is thick and chewy but slides down like butter. It's really dominated by chocolate, but in the best way possible. Slightly bitter aftertaste which trails off like a dessert, a decadent chocolate cake in a glass. Excellent brew.
