Poured on tap at the brewpub into a tulip like pint glass.
Amber orange appearance, quite uniform color throughout, with some few thick cola sized bubbles of rising carbonation. A simple off white and creamy tan head presented, and minimal lacing. Fairly solid, like this solid and simple body look.
Nose hints at some mild fruit and slightly tropical but a little buried. Heavily crackery dry malt bent, slightly oven burnt and blackened as well. Not bad, quite big on toasty notes.
Crackery feeling continues with a noticeable hop front on the palate. Brown bread and malt dryness of crusted toast, with some mild tropical fruit aromas. Nearly pilsner crisp on the dryness scale, with a big aromatic hop citrus blast. Hints towards juice with malts taking over and dominating the dryness. Faint caramel, but very burried under the toasty qualities.
Overall a pretty solid sessionable feeling and almost comes off like a session IPA in character.

From 04/25/14 notes. Had a glass of this at the brewery in DC.
a - Pours a deep, murky amber-orange color with one finger of white head and moderate carbonation evident.
s - Smells of tropical fruits, citrus hops, fruity malts, light tropical notes, bready malts, and floral notes. Very nice fruity and juicy nose; I like it a lot.
t - Tastes of citrus hops, bread, grains, yeast, fruity malts, and light juicy tropical fruits. Not fruit as fruity and fresh as the nose, but quite good.
m - Medium body and moderate carbonation. Smooth and easy to drink.
o - Overall I liked this one quite a bit, especially the nose. Lots of hops and fruits but no bitterness, would like to have it again.
